Obviously know Volkman and a little bit of Metcalf but have no idea on the other kid. If i was Fulton i would be getting all up in Trindall's business.

sharks won't let trindall go, the way moylan is playing he will be the 6 at cronulla before seasons end

Luai is free to talk to clubs November 1st.

Reckon Wayne would have been able to move a few of them on. Him, Gus and a few other coaches just have the ability to come in and tap blokes on the shoulder and bring new blokes into the squad.

We seem to be going okay getting rid of players in recent times, it's just that we have an abysmal record of replacing them with with someone better.

Brooks is significantly better than all those players so assuming everything else is equal we'll be worse in one position. It's not something to get worked up about.

Sad that he is better than them yet we are on the bottom of the ladder..

All the halves discussed and the ones we have arnt good enough.

Yes He has assisted our team in winning some games, but overall has assisted our opposition teams far more in defeating us with his bad kicking bad passes and especially bad choices.

And the brooks supporters originally were claiming brooks could not do the good work a half should do, because of the bad forwards in our team, and you cant expect a half to perform with forwards that bad.

Then we got rid of bad forwards and went and got some good ones, and it made no difference to Brooksy's game, but then this year contract finishes, and all of a sudden this half that has done very little in years, has had his best games in years, still not as good as we should have been seeing from our highest paid player in our clubs history.

And for some reason beyond my understanding both Tim & Benji want to keep Brooks.
So they have made him an offer for a new contract with a salary more in line with what he is worth,
In MHO we should let him go.
But him and his manager will probably screw us and get a lot more than he is worth because they know Tim & Benji want him.

SO I THINK WE WILL HAVE TO KEEP ON WATCHING LUKE LOSE GAMES FOR US FOR QUITE A FEW MORE YEARS YET.

Interesting you said Brooks have improved this year. But, What forwards did we get prior to this year to help improve his game? Also, have we provided him with a decent halves partner or ball playing forward to take some defensive pressure off him? We are the only fan base that seems to believe a halfback should be able do everything himself.

Assuming Brooks isn't about to surprise us & re-sign down the road, the direction the club goes in the halves is getting more interesting/desperate by the day.

One name I've not seen brought up very often is that of Drew Hutchison of the Roosters. He's mostly a utility at the Roosters, but he's a Half/5-8 from the Dragons as a junior who played a lot pf Aus Schoolboys.

Don't get me wrong- I don't think he is the second coming of Benji or Prince. However, he does remind me a LITTLE of Jackson Hastings. I believe he would provide a steady influence, at worst. You could play him in either role in the halves, and you know the effort is there. At the Roosters they compare him to Mitch Aubersson- he fills whatever role they need him to play. That kind of selfless attitude could actually work for the Tigers. If you could combine him with either a good running option, or a good kicking option, you might get better than expected service until some of the younger players are ready to TAKE the job from him.

I expect Wakeham will re-sign. If you add Doueihi to the mix (later next season), maybe a Jack Cogger (kicking game) or Blake Taaffe (running game) & someone like board-favourite Volkmann, coupled with our forwards & Bula- I don't think we are 'worse', in the least.

I hope not Volkman is terrible. Doesn’t go to the line, just takes one step and passes the ball and doesn’t like taking responsibility on the last tackle. Add to that his pop gun kiicking game.
I haven’t seen Duffy play. I know there is some good wraps on him, but his team are struggling to win a game in the Qld Cup so that’s not a good sign.
Metcalfe at least brings elite speed when he runs the ball, but he’s a very hesitant ball player and has a poor kicking game, so needs a very dominant halfback to pair up with him.
One to keep an eye on is Zach Herring who is the opposing halfback against Wests Magpies tomorrow.
He seems to be an old style tough type of halfback with an all round game.

Both Trindall and Volkman played well and would be happy with either but in particular with Trindall he should be playing NRL today - great kicking and passing game, has speed but when live what you see is how he manages a game and a team.

Metcalf would be excellent. think he ticks a lot of boxes for the style of play we want. hopefully we can sign him come November 1 and push for an early release.

Trindall did great last year with the Sharks when he was called up. I can't believe that he would settle too much longer in reserve grade.

What you ask is exactly what ive said, it made no difference to brooksy's game, contract renewal is what has made him play a lot better than he had for the last few years with guaranteed money, and now he needs new contract he Is playing a lot better than at any other time in last few years.
I do beleive that if you are paying over $1 ML a season for any player.
Then you should be getting the value for money like other clubs get from there ML Dollar players, otherwise they get rid of them.

I'd say it is just as likely, if not more likely that he has improved because of the improved forward pack.
