im offering george williams 800k a season for 2 years
I'm throwing 900k each at year at Lewis Dodd and Jack Welsby and giving St Helens whatever they want as a release. Instant halves partnership with blokes who know each other

This would make me extremely happy at least until we see them on the park for us. Is this at all possible ?

I'll say this. I think Sheens is a worker in that he will try and recruit players. He got Klem and Bateman here.

It comes down to price doesn’t it ?
If he would play for 300k per season for the next two years I think we could safely say 17 NRL clubs and every Super League clubs would be happy to sign him.
It’s rumoured Wests Tigers have offered him 500-600k for the next two seasons which I believe is fair & reasonable, Brooks rejected it so he obviously believes he can get more or a similar offer from a club with a better playing roster than what Wests Tigers have.
As most know I’m a Luke Brooks fan, but I acknowledge we probably need to head in a different direction and believe we need to gamble a bit in paying massive overs to try and sign young emerging players such as Jonah Pezet, Latu Fainu, Braydon Trindall or Blake Taafe.
No thanks to Taafe. I smell a fraud.

Good roundup...
I'd be replacing Wakeham with Sexton...
And there's about 3 (Maybe 4) blokes on that list that could hold a candle to the bloke we're giving up,
And half of them are pretty much unobtainable...

I would look at Toby Sexton. Gold kicker and gets repeats sets. Something we have a lot of trouble with.
Yes, important consideration. When / if Wakeham is dropped back to reserves, who the hell can kick goals with a good success rate and do tactical kicking options? I dont think there is anyone in the current squad of uninjured players.

Well Lomax can kick goals…….. heard a while ago he wanted out badly I posted it on here too and now a report came out yesterday that he does indeed want out.

If Naden can’t control himself and Asu Kepoao doesn’t improve his defence - Lomax could be a very good option

Funny how the edge back rowers for every other NRL team, particularly the successful teams are a major part of their attack.
Regularly running onto the ball at speed making half breaks and offload or line breaks that lead to try scoring opportunities and tries.
Souths, Penrith and Parramatta in particular regularly create space with their edge forwards running hard lines which allow space outside them even when used as a decoy.
All the good teams don’t just leave it up to their halves to create something without their team mates, particular edge forwards being a major part of it.
Very rarely happens for Wests Tigers, so
before commenting watch other successful teams play and you might get the picture on part of the reason we are running last.
Only an imbecile would blame Brooks over the past 6-8 games in particular, funny how the team scored 66 points off the back of him causing the chaos for the Cowboys, we went well without him.
Maybe you are happy with your team running last.
The 3 teams you highlighted have fantastic halves pairings. The halves create the space for the edge forwards in those teams and pretty much all the teams at the top. Its only edge forwards like David Fafita that can break teams apart without the help of halves giving them space and great ball.

I think that may be the direction we’re going tbh
This would be awesome but we'd have to offer St Helens the deal of the century in terms of a transfer fee and player/s to replace those 2.

Nofa would be a sensational fullback in SL & media reports 2 weeks ago were we were shopping Blore to both NRL & SL clubs.

No doubt about that.
The back row, particularly the edge forwards cannot be excluded from any blame when their team is struggling to score points.
Our halves look terrible more often than not, but is it a coincidence they were good enough to help their team score 66 points when their team mates were doing there job by running into the ball with purpose and defending strongly ?
Has the team as a whole played with that same intensity before or since ?
Some posts come across like we are instant premiership contenders once we get some better halves and change the bench players who play less than 20mins.

They also have fullbacks that play behind the backrowers and are a threat. The depth to those teams plays is 15mtrs+ deeper than ours every game.

Pffft!

What a crap supposition!!

You haven't heard anything directly from the clubs interested so that makes it untrue - simply because you are out of the loop??

You do realise that unlike our basket case front office - most clubs do their recruitment behind closed doors - and only selectively leak info to favoured media!??

But feel free to jump to conclusions because it is not all entirely transparent...
Clubs have been able to speak to him from November last year. Don't think they were waiting out of courtesy for the Tigers.

You don't think there might be a club out there that wants him
that has all but announced him in the last 2 off seasons running
that might be holding their tongue this time?

I've said it before the silence is more telling than the suppositions

Do Newcastle really need him now they have Hastings? I think Brooks issue is either he or his manager has overvalued him, he is worth what we offered. Newcastle can sign him now why havnt they?

This is getting more and more embarrassing, not that any of these players have left their clubs but being rejected by Moses, Munster, Johnson, Williams (maybe), Schuester (good) Hastings shown the door. With war chest to spend. Brooks is going, he is way better than names getting thrown about and we have nothing. Brooks is worth upping the offer too and get someone in who can steer the team and kick well. Brooks made Wakeman look alright for a month
