Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Fulton will struggle to sign anyone noteworthy this year or next…stories from players who exit the club (Joffa, Gildart, Matterson)…carry a lot of weight with managers and players and anyone approached to sign they want nothing to do with this joint….
Mate we need someone with a background in Real estate someone who can sell the dream API PAPA KLEM BATEMAN all purchased the Promise I wonder if there is anyone available you never know

I usually try to look on the bright side and give the guys in charge the benefit of the doubt, but when wrapping all these fantastic juniors coming through, I have to wonder.
Our cup team is getting hammered most weeks and our lower grades are middle of the road.
It seems to me that many other clubs have just as many “fantastic juniors” as us and apart from a couple of notable exceptions (Bula and Pole), I believe we still need to buy in some quality NRL players, at least to remain in touch over the next 2-3 seasons.

I think those guys probably knew it was a 2-3 year rebuild. The biggest concern is there’s no indication we will match our 2023 recruitment in 2024. I am sure we didn’t sell them a future without NRL halves.

Agree especially when the club has been open about building for Benji era and setting him up for success.

In saying though Joffa does have a good mateship with a few and if we are after Sanders it could be a challenge now.

Pffft!

What a crap supposition!!

You haven't heard anything directly from the clubs interested so that makes it untrue - simply because you are out of the loop??

You do realise that unlike our basket case front office - most clubs do their recruitment behind closed doors - and only selectively leak info to favoured media!??

But feel free to jump to conclusions because it is not all entirely transparent...
Alright, Do you have a thought in your head about one team that might see value in Luke.

Please hazard a guess at one club that might see value in him,
and tell me what you think.

There are rumours going around about he is going here and he is going there, at least I based my comments on an element of fact from my side of things.

The super league team was asking about the availability of Brooks about 6 weeks ago.
No further questions asked since,
This reported by the press.
And TCN 9.

The Raiders it was reported in the press were possibly interested in Luke. But they have apparently by reports from the Press signed Lamb so they wont need Brooks.

Then the News reported Cowboys interested, Cows denied that they had an interest, a few Days later Todd Payten also denied any interest.

How am I going so far, everything I said was reported in newspapers and on NRL 360 also the TV news.
Nothing I stated came out of my imagination,

And even if I made it all up,

This article is now appearing on Suggestions and RUMOURS. ????????

Gus said on 100% footy Brooks is signed, but he wouldn’t say which club, he did say it’s not Tigers, Bulldogs or Saints. But we know he lies, it might be Canterbury, he was adamant the deal is done
Yep saw that too. Gus seems to be sure Brooks is gone. If so i sure hope we have a plan. Watching Wakeham go around with whoever else we throw in at 5/8 could get very depressing.

Any club has been able to negotiate and sign four 8 months now

Than suddenly we offer what he is worth and he knocks us back and claims he has options

What a load of crap

No one wants him and his only option seems to be to try pressure us into over paying yet again
Thats why I wrote that article, any Coach with any brains could see brooks just does not have it.
And I think he will stay at Tigers cause no one else wants him.
But for some strange reason Tim & Benji think he is special.????

Actually we have heard directly from those clubs… they don’t want him.

This is getting more and more embarrassing, not that any of these players have left their clubs but being rejected by Moses, Munster, Johnson, Williams (maybe), Schuester (good) Hastings shown the door. With war chest to spend. Brooks is going, he is way better than names getting thrown about and we have nothing. Brooks is worth upping the offer too and get someone in who can steer the team and kick well. Brooks made Wakeman look alright for a month
Can’t re sign Brooks without signing a real halfback and run him at five eighth

Precisely…those fantastic juniors referred to by Sheens have all now played in the NRL side this year…there is not much else with real NRL potential to come….

100%….we want to keep him cause we can’t sign anyone else better…that’s the only reason and why we didn’t sign him earlier…

Genuinely think brooks would be a big loss. Isn’t a good enough player to do it all on his own but certainly better than what we currently are able to attract to the club.

Sheens said that he played better as a six in a roundabout way when Wakeham played well on debut and we were chasing Moses.

Unfortunately I now believe tigers will be a disaster until we are purchased by a private ownership.

It’s obvious that the board and CEO believe that they should be making football decisions, Pascoe was held in high regard at panthers when he was thier commercial manager. He shouldn’t be any higher than that.

The team was starting to come together and play positive football and commentators were remarking on our improvement, in the space of two weeks the board and management signed a new recruitment manager whilst not informing the previous/ current head of football and current coach and also moved on a contracted current player in a mid season transfer. What a way to disrupt team harmony and put your head coach offside.
It oozes pathetic managment.

Why would any player sign here knowing that you will be moved on if they reconsider your deal as no longer making financial sense a mere 3 months after you sign.

Why would a coach come here if you know there is a possibility that your appointees will be replaced without you having notice?

The deal to brooks offered was “fair market” as they “no longer want to overpay players” I get that, but what is the incentive to come here? You won’t be playing with a quality side, you aren’t treated well by management, you won’t be paid above market, team harmony is poor, the supporters are fed up with the teams mediocre ability and there is no stability whatsoever.

The brutal honesty is Benji and Farah stayed with the tigers because they were on big money to stay here. When the weren’t they left and when the lost all other options they came back. Whilst there isn’t any changes in policy if we don’t overpay for a handful of good players we will only attract those without other options.
