The retention of Brooks is achievable imo but the chances of acquiring Hunt are slim. I would like Hunt but the Dragons are unlikely to release him and even if they do, he would more than likely be headed to Qld. We do have cash and as you know it is the international language. I'd love to have Welsby at WTs as he is just the type of player we need with a great attitude.

if we do keep Brooks you need that dynamic 6 to partner him. If we can't get Fainu which I doubt manly release, then Welsby as a 6 could work or Dodd and play brooks as a 6.
We just cant run with
Brooks
and
Cogger, Clune, wakeham, Schneider, type player they are all not thenstandard we need.

As much as i dislike Bennett if i was a young bloke and it came down to who would you rather be coached by Sheens/Benji or Bennett it is not a contest,Bennett is by far the more attractive option.Money is not the only thing young players consider and we are not an attractive option under our current regime

If we signed Welsby it'd be to play 6 and Luke doesn't have a spot

Totally agree with you jadtiger, money is not the only factor regarding signing players, as sometimes people forget that i believe. I am 100% sure that other clubs with better coaches then our lot would attract players for a lot less then we offer. I know if i was in that position i would for sure go to the club with the better coaches as what you would learn would be priceless.

Whilst I really admire (not really) the members on this site for their sharing of the gossip and rumours of quality players arriving at Concord I think it is time we look at the club's success rate. Everyone has the right to share a rumour from their Aunty Doris and Uncle Ted but it would be nice if they consider the validity of their Information before posting. The Tigers have become a Player Agent's best friend in driving up their footballers worth in the market. Any talk of battling BENNY HUNT playing in a Black, Gold and White jumper is nothing short of ludicrous. Yes I know that I can stay away from this site but I don't and won't because there are some really smart members who are measured in their Information and posts. Guys if you want to make-up stories can you save it for your catch-up with mates at the local watering hole.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment, tigers haven’t just become, they always have been the club to drive up contracts for better players, whilst at the same time the managers could offload their older busted and fringe players at overs.

I’ll add that Hunt isn’t the best halfback in the comp. At the same time, I’d argue api was the best hooker when we signed him. So things must be a little improved. We won’t be a destination until we instill yourself in the 8.

Yep, would have been a great get. And he's not even a qlder desperate to move home. What the hell is our recruitment team doing. We have no decent centres in the NRL, absolutely nothing in NSW Cup and one prospect in flegg.

Watched the clip. A panel member was suggesting Brooks could go to the Dragons, and Gus interjected that Brooks won't be going to the dragons as he has already "committed".

When pressed on what team Gus just closed his mouth and stopped talking.

Not sure if Gus is dumb enough to accidentally announce he was going to the dogs. Likely Gus is stirring for his own benefit as usual.

When I heard it. The word "committed" almost implied he's re-signed with the Tigers.

I'd keep Staines too. Not for big bucks, but he's worth retaining given he can fill in on the wing and at fullback pretty well. Started the season well until his unfortunate injury.
