Lam has played very well. The only knock against him is we've no idea how he performs in big games as Leigh have almost no experience of such. He's got a Challenge Cup semi-final coming against St. Helens in a few weeks so this will be his first real test. Personally I think he was unlucky to be bounced out of the NRL. Something smells wrong to me about how the Roosters handle junior halves. Maybe he just needed time to develop. Unfortunately time is a luxury you just don't have at a club like the Roosters where you are under the spotlight from minute one. Just look at young Walker. To me the best prospects out of that list are Dodd and Smith - primarily because I've seen them handle the pressure of big games. The others are all very talented players. They just haven't had the opportunity to be tested in high-pressure football. Thanks for the summary @ovoevo brilliant!
Also where does Lachlan Lam sit amongst them? Reportedly had a great last month & did a good apprenticeship behind Keary, Cronk and played WC. I'm sure if he was playing NSW Cup today, he'd be going as good as Trindall.
Jack Cogger seems like an "ok" option.Reports this morning that Trevor Cogger's son could be coming home!
It's very emotional.
Ok, all good. Just wanted to clarify. In the final paragraph - yes. I haven't got my glasses on hence I'm mangling the names ...
Look Roosters are preparing a major clean-out of about 11+ players this season. How does the Roosters have cap space??

So many dominos to fall.Look Roosters are preparing a major clean-out of about 11+ players this season.
Sam Walker has been dumped for a number of weeks, unable to retain his spot.
Whilst Walker is under contract for 2024 & beyond, he could also be moved on sooner rather than later. Sam is out of favour at the Roosters.
I would be splashing a descent offer to Walker is roughly on $700,000 a year.
Big watch this space coming. Interesting thought, Brook's manager probably wanted to go to market knowing he would be the only established half available with a few clubs needing one, suddenly a few weeks later Hunt comes onto the scene and he is now the preferred signing. Throw in a potential situation with Walker at the Roosters - suddenly Brook's can no longer price himself on supply and demand as there are two arguably better players available.Look Roosters are preparing a major clean-out of about 11+ players this season.

Roosters this year and Titans 2024 for huntShock club enters running for Ben Hunt’s signature
“The left-field surprise contender that has emerged this morning is the Sydney Roosters,” Hooper said.
“The Chooks had a gutsy win over the Knights on Saturday and as this news began to reverberate around the game, powerbrokers at the Roosters immediately began to have those conversations how they could possibly fit Hunt into their roster Hooper said".
“There are three ongoing clubs that are monitoring this situation closely, the Roosters, the Titans & the Bulldogs".

I posted earlier Jedi that Brooks' if he stays on a slightly upgraded offer will be near the figure he received last contract without the backloading for previous years. I don't understand all the fuss and some of the names mentioned Cogger, Sezer, Austin, Schneider are in ESL or NSW Cup for a reason.then Brooks probably stays
If the club were to splash the cash on a player like Welsby, retain Brooks and pick up a consistent NRL half type that would be a great outcome.
Pretty sure everyone was screaming the same about Munster. Didn't turn out that way. Same with the Cheese.Hunt wants a QLD move and is wife wants to be nearer to her parents, and the strong rumour is that he could end up at the gold coast Titans sooner than later.
As if you'd listen to pooper. There are at least half a dozen clubs interested in him. Of course we're one of them. What his priorities are will determine whom he seriously considersShock club enters running for Ben Hunt’s signature

Abdull would be fine, Wests Tigers don't play in any big games either.Abdull has an absolutely LETHAL boot. He punts the ball as high and as accurately as Matt Burton and his short yardage kicks are a nightmare to deal with. He's a bit of a late developer but since he nailed down his shirt he's been nothing short of excellent. The only question is - how well does he handle pressure in big games because Hull KR hardly play in any.
