There is always a position for a good player and Brooks is a good player. I understood the concept is to keep your good players and surround them with more good players. Welsby can play a number of positions.

How do you feel about Brodie Croft?

Brooks is far from a perfect half but he’s better than almost all the alternative half options being discussed for the next 2 years. We need to re-sign him. Doing so won’t preclude us from getting a Hunt, Welsby etc. We could have both.

We dont at the moment have any halves, other than Wakeham and he kicks Goals, so on a points per game perspective, he would be more valuable than Brooks.

At $400k he would've been a great get for us...I would've given him the #6 jumper too. Typical of this club, the "good" NRL players on the market that are WT "getable" we don't seem interested in.

Walker's knee is injured, if not he'd most likely be in.

The Rorters have huge wraps on Sandon Smith, so Walker may get moved on if they sign Hunt short term.

It's been obvious for a long time you have trouble thinking when it comes to Brooks, so don't strain yourself trying.

I dunno about all this Hunt talk i think we're a snowflakes chance in hell of getting him, imo if anything we are in the conversation to drive his price up elsewhere. I do think he leaves the Dragons though he's probably made his position untenable by so publicly requesting a release. My best guess would be where ever he lands we pick up the scraps of that deal.
Hope im wrong though he could be the kind of circuit breaker signing we need to drag in others.

I feel we need to overpay Ben Hunt. Offer him a lifelong job at Brydens and get Meriton onboard. The Roosters and Melbourne are regarded as the best run clubs in the land, that’s all I’ll say on that.
