Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Tigpies continue to keep recruitment mostly in house despite the manly/issac propaganda being in full swing.

Really hope they're not letting their egos get in the way and sign some good players.

Also if we get Fainu, it's a pretty clear no brainer to let Brooks go when it's a 4 year deal that another team offered.

Brooks for 2 years with Fainu coming through would have made a lot of sense (which is what we offered).

If Fainu is the prospect everyone says he is, there should be no regrets about Brooks leaving.

It’s all about the pathways S, ours is paved with gold and we will be red hot in 5 + years( you’ve heard of a 5 year plan haven’t you ?)
We have an annual version !🤣

We are the only organisation in history to have had more 5 year plans than Stalin and just like that mass murderer none of them work.

Problem is specialist centres want spine money. As long as there is and under supply of elite spine players then this trend will continue.
You don’t have to pay your spine exorbitant salaries.
Wakeham and Bula are on chookfeed but I’d bet you if we had Manu on staff as a centre, we’d have a few more wins with the same spine.

Based on todays news/announcement, maybe the swap is taking a little longer as Manly and WT may want to include Samuela Fainu and Brooks in an immediate swap also? I can imagine Brooks contract this year would be a stumbling block though.

Strange that this has been announced now given there was apparently an imminent swap coming.

Unless it’s announced today or tomorrow I’m concerned we’ve screwed it up with Fainu.
I don't really get comments like this and others.
Talau was always going to Manly, nothing's changed there.
Signing Brooks only puts us in a stronger position now that Manly really needs to get him off their books.
Who cares if Fainu comes next week or next year. It makes no difference.

You could sign Cameron Munster. Wests Tigers will be Wests Tigers. He would quickly become comfortable in the system that Wests Tigers are. No belief. Bottom dwellers. Sustainability in mediocrity. Hasler is taken, Flanagan is taken, Webster they ditched, Payton they ditched. Whereas a good coach realises your potential aka Melbourne, Dolphins, Broncos etc........ However there is always a silver lining in all things in life...... playing for Wests Tigers gives you 2 great opportunities. 1. Good junior football program and 2. When you make the big time at Wests Tigers - you are on show for the bigger teams in the competition to graduate to.
And an observation from yesterday - Kevin Walters on Ben Hunt after Broncos loss - why would he come to us after that performance?
Damning! Where does that leave Wests Tigers.
Both Webster and Payton are absolute surprise successes.

I totally backed Kevie's comments and he knows he needed to ramp the pressure up. Pressure is a difficult thing to build, too much and people crumble, too little and people don't try.

I get the feeling we are being gutted , Now we have a Manly insider who suggested Shuster who clocks off during games for long periods and whos interest is it when I hear figures like $1.2 mill per season being talked about
Good on Benji saying he doesn't want . The fact that Fulton was appointed without telling the coaches till it happened smells " factions " " politics "
Same old Same old BS . What on earth are we doing for a 6 and 7 going forward? . Lee and Justin you had a team that put 66 pts on the Cowboys WITH all their origin stars and now we struggle to put a competitive team on the field
Well Done !!!

Of course but we are aiming for GF glory arent we?
So you pay peanuts get monkeys for halves.
Or we pay Manu 1.1 a season to play centre because he won’t leave a quality club.

Can’t help but think in typical Wests Tigers fashion that Fainu stays at Manly and in 3yrs Manly wins the comp with Brooks and Fainu in the halves.

Meanwhile we continue to hunt for some halves that can get us to at least 1st week of finals.

Hopefully we get a win, Fainu comes across and we get him to reach his potential in our jerseys.
I don’t think that will happen, however at this stage of his career plus with our team around him I can’t see Fainu being anymore effective for us than Sullivan is for St George. We still need an experienced half alongside him. A Foggerty or Townsend he’ll even offer the extra cash to Keary.
