If it's any consolation..

Clubs like the dragons, and to a much greater extent, the dogs, are in the same boat as we are, this year. And in fact, you could argue that with the much heralded Ceraldo (excuse the play on words!) as a coach, and their signings, the dogs should not be where they are today. Both clubs have long traditions / heritage, and a fair share of passionate fans.
Hence, I wonder if the NRL talent pool itself is so shallow so to allow only some clubs to really be competitive, regardless of the administration?

Dragons have not made the 8's since 2018
Dogs since 2016

Not quite the WT drought, but still...

PS - Scraping the bottom of the barrel, here, to be clear ;-)

No, it gives me no satisfaction to see the pain and suffering of others.
Our problems are our own and self inflicted.
We need to do better and our benchmark should be higher.

Doggies NSW cup team is coming first, we are coming 3rd last..

There is literally nothing to look forward to here and we are supposed to be a "development" club
Correct, our so called Juniors are no where near other clubs, this has been our issues for years, we need to move on and start buying young talent, as for me otherwise we will always be in the bottom for years to come

Dogs and Dragons lack of success doesn’t lessen our pain in any way, so I wouldn’t say it’s a consolation.
I do agree that the talent pool is shallow, but it is the distinctly inequitable distribution of the existing talent which sabotages the competition that is the NRL, leaving the same teams always languishing and their fan bases becoming more disengaged.

Dogs are in a worse position than us imo. They have spent big on their squad, gotten who ever they've wanted and still don't perform. We on the other hand have millions to spend but noone wants it so we're fast tracking kids. Our problem is really an easy one to fix, new board and ceo who understand the game. The dogs iv got no idea why they are so poor, can't just be injuries

Doggies have had strong reserve grade sides for several years now, making or winning a few Grand Finals. Doesn't seem to help them though.

It's one thing if your NSW Cup side is full of up-and-coming juniors who are about to break into First Grade. It's another thing entirely if the NSW Cup side is full of Gods Of State Cup (GOSC) who will never hold a First Grade position.

The kids who are really any good, they don't play a lot of NSW Cup.

The whole bitter truth and reality of where we are now stems back to the poor decisions and squandered money on bad recruitment....Ballin,Packer Matalino,Reynolds even Blair to a degree, the point Im making is this problem stems back further than sacking players and Madge...its a trait that this club has had since inception, until some home truths and honesty prevails it will continue..
I will give Madge one good thing that he got the pathways going again, but once again where will that lead us if the kids arent quality...
I hope everything can turn around quickly, but knowing this club and being an avid supporter since the start,I have serious doubts...All I can say is keep our chins up and hope for the best...

It's the changing of the guard. The old foundation clubs are going down and newer clubs like Penrith, Melbourne, Brisbane, Cronulla and Parra are prospering. Even Souths and Roosters - the most powerful of the old Sydney clubs - aren't looking as strong as the newbies (when you're old enough, teams like Penrith and Cronulla are newbs).

In time, the Tigers, Dogs and Dragons will probably meet the same fate as the North Sydney bears and Newtown jets. There might be replaced by another NZ team, a PNG team and a Perth team.

It's all cyclical unless you are us or the Warriors or Titans.
Cronulla almost went under 10 or so years ago but they got their act together. Penrith set their system up over a number of years. Souths took forever but got there and now are usually in the finals.

Ciraldo is looking tired, wonder if Gus has noticed.

The biggest problem at West Tigers is the in fighting and overall lack of direction shown by the board.

The pathway we have put in place over the last 2 years will reap a big benefit if all the juniors reach there potential or not lost to other clubs or codes. There are promising players coming threough but our management needs to be a lot better organised and with a clear goal.

Been saying it for years - not enough talent to continually expand the competition. Too many players in too many clubs making bank that, going back 20 years, wouldn't play reserve grade as it was called.
Problem is the top end of town "hoard" players due to, lets say, "creative bookkeeping" leaving dregs for everyone else.
One of the ways to fix it is to have a properly formulated draft, reduce squad numbers, and have proper ARL legally binding contracts with players becoming free agents after the contract and with proper trade windows, one at the end and one in the middle of the year.

Agree though I think there's a little more to it.

It's the strategy and leadership misalignment that's always been most destructive to us.
Making (seemingly) minor adjustments have a ripple effect, can unravel plans and diminish trust and loyalty.
It shows lack of cohesiveness.
The release of Joffa, appointment of Fulton and latest fiasco re:Brooks demonstrates they aren't on the same page and don't share the same vision/goals.
This may also be causing low morale at the club (?).

Either way they need to get it together (address it) and nip it in the bud.
It's the same poor managerial practices that have often dug is into a hole.
