😂 what do you think is the motivation behind the secretive hiring of Fulton?
A very good question TF.
Many scenarios;
- McDonnell performance,
- McDonnell and Sheens relationship, and if so is it a way of keeping Sheens in line
- We want him coz we’ve heard other clubs want him, but if a Hail Mary play
- Access to Manly players
- Previous pathways success
And probably other things that I’ve not even thought about.
I guess so far Schuster is out of favour, the Manu brothers being touted to Dolphins, Brother oks to Manly and who knows with Talau.
I think the answers a pineapple !

Brooks not Brother

Can't wait until the final round when Lee, in his trench coat and hat, takes Luke's #7 jersey and drapes it over the back of the ceremonial plastic chair to retire it.

This is then followed by an almighty shellacking at the hands of the Sea Eagles, and after the humiliation that has now become a Wests Tigers NRL final round tradition, Luke Brooks is presented with his new Manly #6 jersey with all proceedings taking place under the watchful eye of Scott Fulton.

The 2023 NRL season could not have been planned with any greater precision than this and I take my hat off, (as does Lee) to all those responsible for making this wonderful season possible.

And Wests Tigers win the match as there is no pressure for them to win. No expectations. Lets have fun boys.

I've just had a look at Wests Ashfield latest financial statements. I was looking for a valuation of Wests Tigers as a financial asset of Wests Ashfield. While there are plenty of references to Wests Tigers in the statements and accompanying notes they are not listed as an asset.
I'm not an accountant but was wondering if any forum members who are financially literate might be able to explain why they aren't listed as an asset. My thinking is that, if they were an asset of Wests Ashfield their valuation would have dropped significantly over the last 5 years and there's nothing more likely to galvanise an owner into action than to see their net asset position take a substantial hit.
I just can't understand why Wests Ashfield have allowed this situation to drift along for years without taking serious remedial action.

No idea and I don't care.

But even still you are over-dramatising: "secretive hiring". This is not Women's Day or Bold And The Beautiful and you are imagining up scenarios that you don't know to be true.

Consider this: there is this running narrative now that Sheens and maybe Benji are offside with Fulton, that Fulton was rushed and is an instrument of some kind of Pascoe/Hagipantelis pact to re-gain control of operations and sideline Sheens. To go as far as to create suggestions that Sheens might leave early or Benji walk away from the deal.

It's gotten to the point where there cannot even be a disagreement within the club without someone saying "factions". Tim Sheens denying any knowledge of a Tommy Talau mid-year swap (which he always does) and people start saying "ooh that's SUGGESTIVE".

What a load of horseshit. They are grown men and there have been egos in rugby league since Day Dot, so I'm both not surprised if strong personalities can grate a little, but also I fully expect as pros and grown men that they figure out a way to make it work.

So literally, your previous post was that because Lee no longer appears to say "great man" that this has some deeper meaning. What are you, 5 days out of a girl's high school?

Think that’s a bit harsh. Agree totally re comments about factions and working through it, but imo still worthwhile to try and workout why these things happen. Don’t forget this is still a forum for comments and ideas.

I'm not sure at all- but I know that when Pascoe joined, the club was reeling from the Balmain crash. Last year, Pascoe announced the club was no longer reliant on NRL funding & made a profit. Seems things are moving north on the financial front.

Yes I know they make a 'profit' but they get a whopping grant from the NRL and a pretty decent grant from Wests Ashfield and then they get millions in sponsorship dollars. I think it's a little disingenuous to claim a profit when you are probably gifted around $15m a year in grants and sponsorship dollars.
In fairness though I don't think any NRL club makes a real profit.

I might have totally misunderstood the release from Pascoe, but either we made a profit for the first time, or the club didn't need the NRL funding. I thought it was the NRL funding- but I could be wrong.

I know Pascoe was excited about it, regardless.

What profit is there for the fans?

Ok conspiracy theorists try this.
Jones outburst not spontaneous but was timed to try and bring about a spill in the board with recently elected Joe Cool( a former Liberal party candidate) a backup for Perrotets run for the Chair,
These are the Days of our Lives!

Did you check the liabilities column?

All i can say is thank every deity known to mankind that Scomo supports the Sharks or we would be crazy enough to offer him the job.
