I could very well have the interpretation wrong but one main way people gas light is

Brooks has been good for us but he has a hide to question anyone apart from himself. He has been a critical piece of this club for years and we've been failures all that time. On top of that he was paid massive overs for at least a couple of years.

I'm not sure it's gaslighting but my expectations were that Brooksy would sign for unders for the next couple of seasons in order to help the club out. He choose to be offended about the club offering him a fair contract and leave to go elsewhere.

Complaining about club management or anything at all at this point is acting like a spoiled brat.

Allow me to apply a similar, but exaggerated comparison of the oft repeated logic surrounding Brooks and his relationship with the club’s success.

Brooks doesn’t run the organisation. He’s a small cog in a big wheel.
Brooks is leaving us as many have done, because his goals don’t align with the club’s agenda.

I couldnt care less about Brooks playing …

If it leads to a young player getting some NRL experience instead then this would be a better outcome for me ..

Only problem with that is there is NO young player to throw in the mix. Fainu and Sullivan next year and the rest those that can play are rubbish and those that we will need to bleed a few years away. Now at least I can change my tip to Dolphins. Whether I like it or not a much weaker team will be playing.

Was looking forward to a big win today and a big loss for Saints which really improves our chances of offloading the spoon.

Only problem with that is there is NO young player to throw in the mix. Fainu and Sullivan next year and the rest those that can play are rubbish and those that we will need to bleed a few years away. Now at least I can change my tip to Dolphins. Whether I like it or not a much weaker team will be playing.

Api is playing half, which has led to a shake up resulting in Matamua coming off the bench, so a young player is getting further NRL experience through Brooks not playing … it doesn’t necessarily have to be a half…
