Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

We have two very exciting young halves in Fainu and Sullivan joining the club at a time when halves are scarce. I am excited that the club has acquired two young halves who have x factor. Sezer will be good for the club as a stop gap and has a role to play. Brooks has decided to leave and I wish him well. He has secured the future of his family on a good contract. Can we please cut out the nastiness as it demonstrates a lack of class.

swap ya hi horse 4 a soap box.🙂

I was going to leave it alone, but you called me a sword smoker, I have been married for 27 years with 2 kids now in their twenties.
So I am far from a sword smoker, what this proves is you have no idea, and more importantly a complete lack of class

Well said and also good luck to Brooks he will go good playing 5/8 outside of DCE and who could be upset with the wage he was paid he was not the one writing the check

My man. Thankyou for this.

Also for what it’s worth for anyone who jumped to conclusions.

Warren Mcdonell, role at manly is part time. He is also being courted by another basket case merger club🤷‍♂️
smart move from manly, consultancy rates 4 the list instead of a 2year job from the other.

find it funny that Manly is engaging us as a threat, maybe their in more trouble than they will admit,
Media havent revealed any sources.

No different to ‘the moles’ article (Tony adams). Mates with sheens.

The stories that have and Will be posted will suit the narrative.

Moley was optimistic until sheens pulled the pin, now Moley is back speculating and trying to put pressure on the Board.

Btw I am in no way I am supporting Pascoe etc. trying to look objectively, knowing there’s a shit show around that board table currently.

big secret -you know

Watched the game and the players seem to play with a bit more freedom, but it was against an average Dolphins side. Would have liked to have seen Laurie earlier at No 6, has been killing it, and Kepoa had a good game, a few errors but really solid. I hope they resign Kepoa and work on him, but the one I hope they dont make the mistake with is BULA, the things he does will attract plenty of attention from other clubs, Tedesco's at the end of his career and the Roosters will come looking. I hope they are not short changing him on his current contract.

Indeed we should .. tie up some of players we need to keep .. cause if we don't the other clubs will come sniffing for sure. I would have liked to have seen Josh Feledy given a shot in the centres instead Reilly last weekend .. he has more a killer instinct attacking style than Reilly does.

Sounds like Mark O'Neil on his way back.

Would make sense with sheens departure but would it end the pascoe fiasco?

Also, can you come back after disciplinary action?

Someone did say that Pascoe was stepping down end of season, dunno what MON is doing at the Eels head of football or whatever. But if Robbie is assuming to step into that role you could only assume MON would be coming to replace Pascoe if thats true.

NOOOO!

nope nada and Nah.

"Depth is key". Depth is 100% not the key. Top shelf talent is the key.

We have all seen how getting, debateably the leagues best Hooker in Api has changed our side.
Top Shelf player. Top shelf player makes a huge impact and wins games.

Had we signed Mitchell Latrell we would have seen a similar difference, Top Shelf player. On the Bench for Souths and he upgrades their defense so much that they almost pip Penrith.

Haven't people learned that the BIG 17 isn't the right way to build a side yet?
Depth means signing your Reynolds, Packer, Matalino and other players, Your 700k players not your 1million game winners. They won't win you games but you will have that 200-300k left over for DEPTH!

Or did Momo leaving us not bother anyone? Why he was our "DEPTH" center, who wanted to play first grade center. Clearly he was at or close too that level and welcomed at Penrith... But we decided to Shut him off by signing BJ and James Roberts.... Hey Guys how did that "DEPTH" signing work out?

Now sure. If you have say DCE and Munster signed... Go for some depth.
Ofcourse you need a Depth Prop as they tend to get injured.
Maybe a second hooker as API could play Origin.... But not 4 Damn Hookers as we have signed yet again!

NO MORE DEPTH! Top shelf talent takes priority. Reggies and rookies are for depth. That is their progression.
I think if you look at our squad this season vs last season, the club has made some progress in buying top quality players.

1. Api
2. Klemmer
3. Ice
4. Bateman

We’ll probably see some movement in the off season as well.

It’s just reality, that 10-13 players will end up being “depth” signings.

I’m not sure what you’re arguing?
