We have said we aren't looking to extend Twal. By the time of 2025 he wpuld be almost 29. I am happy not to extend the contract of a 29 year old Twal. Think we should keep him next year but also ok not to extend. I would take Keppie over Twal long term
Twal would be top 10 defensive middles in the game, but let's just look at front rowers, which he is. So take the modern day locks like Murray and Jake out of it and just compare front rowers. Who in the game can play 70 to 80 minutes and do what Twal does? I don't think there is a front rower that can do it. AFB along with Haas is a freak with the minutes he plays, but it's his attack that is his strong point. Defense alone Twal is in the argument for best front rower in the game, at least top 5 to 10.Go back and watch the manly highlights and point out these effort plays
you speak of for me can ya?
I never said he was poor defensively - He's OK (ish)
I could name 10 middles in the game that are better - Without even thinking....
I think Jurbo is over-rated and he shits all over Twal.
He's fine at catching a player when they run straight at him
Although he didn't stop DCE or Turbo early on for tries in the game mentioned above.
I've said it before - I have no hassle with keeping Twal, But he's first drop replacement middle for mine...
You can think / say what you like.
If he leaves to a successful club - Fair chance that will be where he finds himself....
We've come last - Twice in a row...
That would suggest most players we have need to go?
The bulk of our squad would be 17-30 at other clubs.
Twal plays 70-80 Minutes at Prop?
You do need a new TV...
You're the only person I've ever heard mention Twal in the Top 10 Props in the game....
😂😂😂😂
Most realists wouldn't have him in the top 20!! Even that's generous...
Almost every Prop has played 80 odd minutes at some point, It happens.
- Woods used to do it often...
I agree with you he wouldn't blow out a candle....
I prefer "wouldn't bruise a grape" myself...
I note you bypassed the comment - Along with most others...
I'd be interested to see your list of top props in the game (If Twal is 5-10)
He's not even in the top 10 of Props playing this weekend...
Twal (Mr Mediocre) is happy with a 10 minute Chee Kam-like cameo appearance.Twal plays 70-80 Minutes at Prop?

I said he can do that, which he has done in the past many times. Has been used differently this year, but he is capable of playing 80 and not blowing out a candle.
I think that is one mistake in our recruiting...I don’t get that logic at all. He’s one of our better players. If he’s on double that and we have to pay half for him to play elsewhere, then we have 300k remaining to pay a player who won’t be as good as him.
The dumbest type of rebuttal (If you could even call it that)
This isn't top 10, But a gentle idea of where you can look to find real props.
Here you go...
There's at least:
3 at Penrith,
2 at the Roosters
2 at Parra
2 at the Storm
2 at the Warriors
3 at the Knights
2 at the Dophins
2 at the Raiders
2 at the Broncos
2 at the Cows
3 at the Sharks
2 at the Titans
1 at the Rabbitohs
1 at Dragons
1 at Manly
That make Twal look like a reserve grader....
ps: I've been pretty generous in the list.
Funny thing is - Twal isn't even considered (By anyone) in the top 2 Props at the Tigers
- And we're back to back spooners...
How exactly does that land him top 5-10 in the comp?
😂😂😂

Different to Mole & DT:
- Marshall told Furner he wouldn’t be required to finish the last 12 months of his deal as an assistant.
- Alluding to a Twal / Keppie swap perhaps
- WT not going to let Galvin go
A powerful group of Wests Tigers owners met with frustrated supporters before commissioning a review into the governance of the embattled club, which could have major implications for how it is run.
Less than a fortnight after their second straight wooden spoon, the majority shareholders in the Tigers announced on Thursday they had contracted ex-NRL executive Tony Crawford to put the club’s structure under the microscope.
The independent review is the most significant step taken by the club after claiming a second straight wooden spoon. No timeline has been given for a report to be tabled.
But amid further changes within the football department - the Tigers have told Alex Twal he is free to leave before the end of his contract and assistant coach David Furner has been axed with a year left on his deal - the spotlight will now fall on its off-field operations.
The fact the review has been instigated by the Holman Barnes Group, the trading name for Western Suburbs Leagues Club Limited, which owns 90 per cent of the Wests Tigers, is the first sign of a potential summer of change looming at the joint venture.
“The board of the Holman Barnes Group has commissioned an independent report into the governance of Wests Tigers,” a statement provided to this masthead said.
“The board would like to thank all members and fans of Wests Tigers for their feedback in relation to this matter, especially all those that took the time to sign the petition that was submitted through the hosts of Wests Tigers podcast. While we are unable to set a specific timeframe for the completion of the report, we are hopeful it is completed in a timely manner.”
Gary Barnier, the former chief executive of Australia’s largest aged care chain and managing director of Cooperage Capital, will join Crawford for the review.
The Tigers have faced increasing public protests from frustrated fans, whose side has missed the NRL finals for 12 straight seasons and have Benji Marshall taking over as head coach next season.
Supporters vented their fury at chief executive Justin Pascoe, in particular, with banners inside stadiums during the final weeks of the season.
On the field, the Tigers are preparing to move on one of their longest-serving players after this masthead revealed rival clubs had been alerted to cult hero Twal’s availability despite having another year to run on his deal.
According to club sources speaking on the condition of anonymity due to the private negotiations, the Sea Eagles had expressed an interest in adding the Lebanese international to their roster.
It comes as Manly prop Sean Keppie became the latest player to be given the green light to speak to rival clubs despite being under contract on the northern beaches until the end of 2026.
The Sea Eagles only upgraded Keppie’s contract late last year, but he’s landed on the radar of the Tigers as both clubs seek to reshape their forward packs.
Furner’s time at the Tigers is over after Marshall told the veteran coach he wouldn’t be required to finish the last 12 months of his deal as an assistant, with ex-South Sydney staffer John Morris arriving at his old club.
Furner, the former Raiders and Leeds coach has admirers at the Rabbitohs, was discussed internally at South Sydney as a potential replacement for Sam Burgess, who walked out on the club with one match left of the regular season.
But NSW Cup coach Joe O’Callaghan is considered the favourite to step up to Jason Demetriou’s staff after leading the Rabbitohs to the second tier grand final on Sunday week.
Meanwhile, the Tigers insist they have no intention of letting schoolboy sensation Lachlan Galvin leave the club before next season after the playmaker starred in Westfields Sports High School’s national title win on Wednesday. Galvin will move into the Tigers’ top 30 next year.
I'm not sure what the point is of swapping Keppie and Twal.Latest story in SMH

Makes no sense to me alsoI'm not sure what the point is of swapping Keppie and Twal.
There would be likely limited financial benefit, and Twal is a similar quality player who obviously has a good relationship with the players at WT.

How about Twal & Kepaoa for Olakau'atu!
I reckon Fulton should sell AJ as having Olakau'tau potential lol

Twal is 28 , Keppie is 25. Twal will be almost 29 the year his next contract would be due to start. Not saying we need Keppie but he is as good but younger and cheaperI'm not sure what the point is of swapping Keppie and Twal.
