Im not concerned about his lack of rugby league experience.Agree regarding O'Neil. The flop can stay at Parra.
Cheik is one of the best man managers in sports
administration, but I share the same reservations
about his lack of rugby league background. I
wouldn't be against it at this point in time though
Some genius ex coach claimed he wasn’t up to NRL level and was only there because of his surname. Why did they let him go?
You are not concerned about his lack of Rugby League knowledge? Why then would he be a great fit? Just asking. Nostalgia? And yes you are totally correct. Conflict of Interest.Im not concerned about his lack of rugby league experience.
Id reckon he'd be great
But what happens if its in the tigers best interest to punt Douhi?
Might be a conflict of interest
So looks Ice being cool and staying. So much for the innuendo. Tomorrow is a different day.Kelma Tuilagi:
Parramatta Eels have reportedly added Manly Sea Eagles forward Kelma Tuilagi to their roster for next season to improve their forward stocks. What a great move .. from the Tigers to Manly for 2023 .. now from Manly to the Slimes for 2024 ... 3 clubs in 3 years .. !!
No, we haven't had a crop like this come through since Brooks, Moses, Teddy and Woods. It's certainly not been common for us to produce talented juniors, especially not every 2-3 years. We've awful for the best part of a decade, in all grades.Nope. Just reading the forum. And it’s not just this crop, we always seem to have them coming through every 2 or 3 years. Yet we’re still flailing.
Hopefully the wheels start turning 2024.Every time the club has had a few years of success and even back in the Balmain days and Magpie days it has been when a group of very talented kids have hit the top grade at the same time. It is not unreasonable to think we are about to enter this phase.
Highly doubtful it will be next year, but 2025 could be the year the wheels start to turn. We have a lot coming through but the one I think will be an absolute standout is Galvin. Reminds a bit of a young Nathan Cleary, he never seems to be rushed and has a lot of footy IQ
Or a left field coach with new tactics.Every time the club has had a few years of success and even back in the Balmain days and Magpie days it has been when a group of very talented kids have hit the top grade at the same time. It is not unreasonable to think we are about to enter this phase.

Phil Gould first year he won a premiership, Ricky Stuart first year won a premiership,My comment was in reference to the suggestion they'll implement success....
So - It doesn't mean very little....
Their long term success in their chosen field career wise, Isn't great - What grounds do that give them to think they will be in a new career - With zero experience.
Bellamy may not be remembered for his playing career
(Although he only played 40 odd less games than someone like Wayne Pearce - And actually won a Grand Final)
He will be remembered for his work ethic (throughout his entire career) and getting to where he is by doing the groundwork - I wouldn't associate those attributes to either of these blokes.
You're right though, All we can do is watch the car crash...
Ask any of them if they think Benji Marshall is ready to be an NRL head coach?
Furthermore, Ask them if they'd (Hypothetically) trust a Rookie Coach (With zero experience)
with the career of their young blokes?
Listened to Bennett on James Graham podcast just yesterday....
He mentioned - In 3 years or so, Benji will have a bit of experience to give it a go....
No mention of Benji being ready now, Or coaching teams for the last 5 years as Benji openly claims...
Follow blindly if you like, I can't think of any NRL coach in my time
- That has come in with 1 year experience in ANY GRADE and had any success.....
I'd even go as far to say, There hasn't been one with such an overly inflated opinion of himself to even pull it on - But here we are.
If nothing else, At least the old boys can go back to spending their days together...
I agreeSironen should be a target. Very good utility. I would think of him as probably not top 17 but could even play the 14 role and spell Api for a bit at hooker if needed as well as filling in elsewhere.
Yeah..coaching in the 80’s was a totally different animal. Pretty much a different sport to NRL.Think you’ll find Sticky was coaching lower grades at the Dogs or some such…
Gould was mid 80’s - so that’s not really relevant to how it works these days nor is it NRL
But I take your point…
Maybe I realise that our club is going in the wrong direction, 10 years ago they said we have a plan , then 5 years ago they said we have a plan now they telling us we have a plan for 2025 , maybe I am getting sick and tired of the false claims , unlike u maybe I am venting my frustration, as a fan I think that I can do that . But u do ur thing by all meansIt's not one post, its everything you've posted for months is absurdly cynical and critical of the club
Thanks heard that reference only 100 times b4That must be due to the aggressive recruitment Lee was going on about, which we rather stupidly assumed was for the playing roster.
I'm sure the applications for the GM position have been unprecedented, easily outstripping the 16 or 17 applications for the head coaching position.
just to clarify i was talking about Cheika. I reckon he would know how to run a football side with his experience with the roosters and with union sides etc.You are not concerned about his lack of Rugby League knowledge? Why then would he be a great fit? Just asking. Nostalgia? And yes you are totally correct. Conflict of Interest.
