A lot of ifs there. We’ve taken enough chances on players like him over the years and been bitten. We need guys that are proven.

Proven players don't want to the club though. All we can do is sign players out of favour with their clubs or based on potential.

I like your thoughts but we aren't attractive enough for this to play out.

We need to get rid of players who won't see the first grade footy field such as Sione Fainu. Hopefully he isn't resigned come 2025. I can only imagine what the papers will say about his brothers tenure at the club if he is dropped.

Wouldnt mind seeing how sione kicks on with his brothers here, they've invested the last couple of years in him may as well go a couple more now the whole family are here

Clearing out deadwood should be the club’s slogan at this point. How do you clear out contracted players you consider deadwood, and expect other clubs to take them?

What would Fainu be on, minimum? you‘d have to replace him with someone on similar money. 30 is a big number. You are always going to have one or two players that are never going to be first graders. Especially at a club like ours. You start scraping the bottom barrel eventually.

What is the big fuss about tigers only offering two years??? Why are they set on 2 years, and not offering at least 3??

It’s a dumb move if that’s the case. You have to sign a player like that on that kind of money for at least 3. Preferably 4

The problem is we need some spots available unless we are basically writing off next year.

I think we've made some good decisions. We have a good pack on paper but we need Stef, Klemmer, Bateman and IP to perform significantly better. We have a couple of good young halves that may kick on over the next couple of seasons. If they are really good they may prove that next season. I like To'a, Tupou and Bula.

We still look like wooden spooners though for next season unless we can get some quality outside backs which personally I can't see happening.

Yeah I don't get it, 3 years easy.... hell I'd even offer a player of his calibur 4 years, he's still young enough to warrant a longer deal...

Sheens has gone very quiet, which indicates he wants to hang onto that $1m 😂

You're forgetting how far under the cap we've been the past few years. And also that everyone in the top 30 should be able to contribute if called upon.

We could replace number 30 in our squad with someone on 800k. And then number 29 becomes 30...

Unacceptable recruitment so far for a dual wooden spoon club. Didn't build on what was achieved last season recruitment wise, and find ourselves in a worse position heading into next year - largely because of the direction set by our administration that from the outside looking in no one is buying.
All very well to move on deadwood, but no value in replacing them with the deadwood from other clubs and expect that they will achieve in arguably the weakest squad in competition. I will be stunned if the club gets anywhere near the amount of season tickets sold this year compared to previous seasons when the writing is pretty much on the wall for next season before a ball is thrown.
