2024 Pre-Season

Hey KR .. what's the background with Willett ? Fast ? Skillfully? Obviously tall.. what his best position ?
Haven’t seen too much of him actually playing mate.

He’s from around Taree, has played mainly fullback and centre over the last few years, has played a bit of five-eighth previously too.

Played fullback for Taree City this year in the A-grade comp up there while he finished high school and apparently impressed.

Another outside back.. that's great.. especially if when he bulks up in a couple of years.. straight to Flegg you reckon ?

Most of the time our club seems to let the youngsters play SG Ball when they’re eligible and then elevate them to Flegg from there.

Hopefully once the Flegg season starts (about 6 or 7 weeks after SG Ball from memory) he gets promoted to there shortly after.

How the hell can we miss a guy that tall!

Far out, were doing it wrong. Bula, Willett... Your going to be the Wests Tigers Basketball teams!
it's to go along with the 200,000 passes that Tim Sheens had us do. Just hire 3 other tall guys and take out the Basketball cup.

Fitness is what they all need to work on. Fitness is everything.
Penrith all look like they're trained by Gai Waterhouse, flint hard tough bodies.
Fitness is what makes Penrith great.
100% that's what won them the grand final the Broncos blew a gasket.

Navren WillettName: Navren Willett
Position: Centre, Fullback, Five-eighth
Age: 18 this year
Junior team/s: Taree Panthers, Taree City Bulls, Newcastle Knights Harold Matthews
2023 Age group: Balmain SG Ball (Willett will complete preseason then return home to continue playing for Taree in 2023 while he completes his schooling)

Willett, who already stands at 6’6 (not a typo), has signed a four year deal with Wests Tigers through until the end of 2026.

The first year of Willett’s deal will see him complete preseason with Balmain SG Ball before returning home to complete his schooling, where he’ll continue playing for Taree City.

As you would expect, Navren is a threat in the air and stands well above players his age, while also being a superb athlete.

Willett spent time in the Knights junior rep system where he impressed before returning home. Wests Tigers saw off interest from other NRL clubs and the Sydney Swans to secure Willett’s signature.

Like Jordan Miller, Navren possesses a unique frame and one that can become a real threat through the grades if developed properly.

At this stage, one to keep an eye on for 2024 more than 2023.

Zak Clark is also a good goal kicker.
I was impressed with his over all energy, work rate and ability in the games I seen him play. Hope he progresses.
