Luke Brooks #167

I always liked Brooks but he has been so mediocre. They always say that winning solves everything and a proper halfback is one of the main ingredients in a winning football team. He is too meek to be the leading man in a team. I find his comments about the decisions in the club to be distasteful.

Today is proof that playing without a halfback is better than playing with Luke Brooks.
It’s an interesting one. But you could also say that it shows that when a team doesn’t have a dominant player in their side that the style changes to something that is a bit more balanced. A lot of the game plan has been focused around Brooks for many many years where as Brooks should have been a complementary player in an overall balanced side.

It was his decision, but Brooks moving on is the right call for both parties. He’s proving to be quite injury prone lately as well.

Watching Brooks for so long, I find him so predictable. Usually short pass to a prop or second rower, and when he runs out of room he steps back into the defence.

I’m looking forward to Sullivan’s unpredictability.

It was a stroke of genius to give Brooks a BBQ.
The gift needed to reflect Brooks as a player so it couldn't be a quality item that would last forever and provide a lifetime of memories, it had to be something that would rust away and end up in a tip in a few years like his career.
