Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Well benji and api are singing the same tune about playing with structure. So I think that bodes well for guys like tupou, bula, papalii and to a lesser extent toa. Guys that can win 1v1s.
I think we will see a fairly boring style of play this year, but one that will yield far better results. I think Sullivan could be a revelation if things go his way, the guy can score tries, he just needs to but into a game plan and build some combos.
I’m concerned about our backline and I think Jayden will take a year or two to grow into his role. This may sound insane, but all I want for Xmas is for the Tigers to restrict teams to 18 points or less per game in ’24. If we show that sort of discipline we’ll make the 8, if not it’s going to be another sh#t show of a year.

OMG
All this talk about Lobb who wasn’t kept by his last club and not in our top 30, Because he looks like a footballer I can’t get the saying out of my head “Looks like Tarzan plays like Jane”
Hope I’m wrong and pleasantly surprised.

100% shows how desperate we are though for an injection in the backline. We are very lite on for wingers with Staines not in the squad.

Can’t see Noffa leaving and unless we strike a miracle change we are left with what we have so some are clinging onto hope someone new / rookie steps up. Be surprised if he gets a crack outside of injuries.

I reckon Naden goes back to play on the wing next year, particularly if the Olam/Blore swap eventuates.

It's an interesting read. Particularly as it shows Starford T'oa as our Number 1 try scorer. Api comes next, then Tupou, followed by Bula and Nofa.

Puts things into perspective.
The one that I found really interesting was the goal kicking:

From memory I think Brandon Wakeham was at around 82%+ (really good)

But then there is Api on around 85%+ (absolutely brilliant)

But I seem to remember the first time I saw Api take a kick it was the worst attempt you would see in a long time, what a turn around with his goal kicking.

Just went looking to see if I could find where and when that kick was but I still haven't found what I'm looking for.

This was as close as I could get. Maybe someone else with a better memory than me may be able to come up with it.

Lobb is a talent. great leap, good out of yardage, surprisingly agile for his size and can kick goals. he’ll be 22 next year and will absolutely push for selection.
Lobb has been recruited for a reason. Noffa has been on the nose with WT previously and allegedly not great for team culture which doesn't bode well given Benji's coaching agenda moving forward. Smokey for round 1.
