Remember back in the day when every Christmas, Easter and virtually every long weekend there was a petrol strike and petrol shortages.

Back in the day the slogan was, "why go past Ampol?"

They've got no bloody petrol that's why.

My family was considered poor as we drove diesel powered vehicles. These days you have to be rich to drive them.

And sometimes, they'd break the queues into one day evens and one day odds, depending on what you number plate finished in.

I was telling a young person not long ago about the petrol strikes and the odds and even number days we used to have. It was blowing his mind. Then I told about street directories. Boom!!!
