Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I’ve always thought we looked unfit and weak, however this season was the first in some time where I thought we looked the part.Had a good year with injuries too.

Cohesion was one of our major issues ,as was gameplan. From all reports we spent an entire off season learning to play “attacking footy” which is fine when you have the cattle to bring it to life. But I think most Tigers fans could see our strengths, decent pack ,elite 9.
Not exactly a team you’d even attempt to play flash footy with.
In saying that we looked like we’d never trained together most games.
But back on the whole cohesion thing ,this is where Benji and Co really need to stamp some authority.Evey player needs to know what position/side they will be playing and spend a whole off season working on combinations and learning their mates game.constantly changing what side a centre, second rower or winger plays is never going to end well ,of course injuries play a major part, but spending a whole off season training in one position next to the same bloke will go a long way.
You hit the nail on the head there.

Des Haslier I respect as a coach. When he went from Manly to the Dogs, he coached to the players he got.
Sheens had a slow team and went "lets play fast footy".

Fulton seemed pretty reasonable on the podcast. Surely we can't be that dumb to remove him.

It's good to have differences between him and benji. It's actually a governance check. With the juniors coming through, he really only has to sign a couple of signatures a year.

Surely the only way he'd be fired is if he's already messed up big time, more than once.

We've had 3 heads of recruitment already in 2 years.

Nobody named Fulton should ever have been considered as an employee of a club called Wests to begin with.
But now that he's here the excellent reviewers had an obligation to hear his point of view before boning him you'd think.
Yeah I don’t buy it mate.

Doesn’t pass the pub test imo

Somehow got Hodkinson and Reynolds in sky blue, and took a fairly average Doggies team to a GF. Des very could work wonders at The GC
Benji is a complete unknown at this point ,maybe he is the type of coach who can tell someone like Kepoa that your a backrower not an outside back ?
Or understand that we’re not going to go around teams. We’ll need to play high percentage smart footy.

Could be... Doubtful though!!
Enlighten us all, What are we losing?

I'll kick it off for you,
A 73 yr old bloke who's shown no evident contribution in his time here (Unless you're counting the glitter)
that no other club wanted around 6 years ago when we gave him a job.
He played 35 first grade games, which would be 35 more than you, and was trainer of choice for premiership and SOO winning coaches for 30 years. How's your resume look compared to his?
I never said we shouldn't have let him go, he just doesn't need nobodies like yourself giving him a bagging at the end of a brilliant career.

And it lasted about two weeks. I couldn’t believe they were playing that style. Despite not making the finals so many years during his first tenure, we at least had the cattle to play an attacking brand of footy. We had Marshall in the halves. This year we had Wakeham.

Been told that Lee & Fulton will be let go after yesterday’s meeting & the club will be backing Benji all the way (hence Fulton being let go) Whether it happens or not is a different story but thought i’d share here.
Benji is being backed by the club? Wow 😮
the last coach the club supported was Ivan.

But not unexpected. It appeared as though he was hired to recruit the Fainus and p off the coach? Both those goals have been achieved.

I can't see how people are upset about this. Club management are showing off their chops.

Our biggest problem is getting a decent team on the park. If we've already picked up the best prospects Fulton could get us and we let him go so be it.

Whether Fulton is good, bad, toxic or smells like roses is irrelevant. It would be so Wests Tigers to hire someone and then change their undies - what a stupid decision if true.
Now wonder we are a basket case. No wonder not many good players or their managers have wanted to come to near it for years.
Cut these kind of cancers out whoever they may be.

If Fulton was to indeed be let go, there’s always the chance that he’s a scapegoat. Because, it’s not like this club was motoring along before he got here. Time for some of the higher ups to hit the bricks as well. If Lee goes, that’s a great way to start.

One of the main gripes of the guys who wanted the review was the inability of the club to stick to a plan and here we go again. The media will have another day out. Of course if it is true

As for Lee we need his cash, if we can get him to walk away from the spotlight he is valuable to us, but that is a big if as self promotion is a tool he loves to use
He is a tool who loves himself and uses self promotion to stay in the spotlight.
I just thought I would jumble your words around to see what happened.
Agree with you though he’d be much better for the club if he wasn’t in the media all the time. Board member is his best position.

The Sheens / Tigers DNA plan at least had some logic behind it. Knifing Sheens and hiring Fulton was just amateurish. Everyone responsible needs to go play in a different sandpit. Rugby Leagues not for them.
