Nostalgia

Losing mirrors depends a LOT on the skill of the bus driver.
If he/she has the ability to drive wholly within the lane while being mindful of telegraph poles, overhanging awnings, and believe me a LOT of other obstacles, not too many mirrors are lost.
If your losing nearside mirrors the obvious reaction is to stay a bit further from the gutter, then you lose offside mirrors from passing trucks.
I was lucky enough to go for one whole year without any incident at all and believe me that's something I was really pleased to achieve as it's pretty rare.
Soon after that I was unexpectedly called into the boss's office, and I thought 'shit I'm in trouble'. Instead, I was told my achievement had been noticed and given a certificate of appreciation which I had framed to hang on the wall.
A couple of years later though things weren't going well in my personal/home life which effected my driving and I started to lose confidence and bloody mirrors, to many mirrors.
I'd gone from the penthouse so to say to the bloody 💩 house 😡 and was no longer getting any satisfaction from doing a job I once enjoyed and doing it well....ahhhhh!!!...I can't handle this anymore 😱😱 let me outa here, so I became a self-funded retiree at age 57.
But....a BIG lump of the $$$ I had accrued in my superannuation disappeared in the f'n GFC.
And my personal/home life hasn't improved 🙁.
Funny how life keeps serving us curve balls, eh - mate, you're not alone!
Keep strong.

Gosh mate, you’ve had a lot of crap thrown at you, but you’re still here, still hangin in there doing your best under often trying circumstance. Keep going!
When I was 19 and going to night school, got a truck licence and found a desperate business willing to give me a job.
By day I drove a 10 tonne tabletop from Mascot to Homebush. In 9 months I lost 2 mirrors but had many bumps. As you know it’s a constant juggling act especially if you happen to be in the middle lane 😂
I was constantly rearranging my drivers side mirror.
By night I was into the books.
The owners asked me to start work at 5am so I could make 2 trips 🥲 I was often working 12hr days and not eating well. I chalked it up as part of my education. 😂 especially after losing half my load on the old goat track 😂
I lost a lot during the GFC too. Did not see it coming.
Anyway, you deserve a break mate.
