That is the excuse the NRA and gun lovers use, however for the rest of the civilised world it works fairly well. The more guns you have in society especialy military assault ones which are very easy to get, the higher the chance this sort of massacre happens
I'm not a gun nut by any stretch of the imagination. It worked for us but there are so many more guns in circulation in America. If a house intruder threatens you with a gun, you should have the right to defend yourself.

even if perp has no gun,it shouldn't be an offence to take them out,as our laws reflected 2 decades ago

In the United States it would be virtually impossible for them to adopt our gun control policies because their lobby groups/interest groups wield incredible power. They shape public discourse. NRA case in point - there is money to be made even if it costs lives. They influence / identify politicians , media , donate - these groups are intertwined with politics. In a similar way to how our govt identify young up and coming politicians from overseas and well etc

Same applies for lobby groups like Indian American lobby, environmental groups or Israel lobby (neo conservatives like anti defamation league, Aipac etc) or the military industrial complex (think it was Ike who first mentioned it) who profit from the Palestinian / Israeli conflict by way of grants, funding , arms support etc and as a result creating foreign policy in the interests of Israel - leading to instability in the Middle East (Iran, Lebanon Syria etc) . It’s is big business !

This is an interesting watch considering Flanno‘s fall and now resurrection from the Sharks peptide scandal

Be funny if shes ruffles a few feathers by saying something derogatory over in China.

Won't go down too well over there and I'm sure they won't just pull the contract and send her home, maybe send her to some remote labour camp instead.

Remembering Dr. Victor Chang on the anniversary of his birth, born Chang Yam Him, November 21, 1936 in Shanghai, China, cardiac surgeon and pioneer of modern heart transplantation in Australia. On April 8, 1984 a team of doctors lead by Chang operated on 14 year old Fiona Coote who became Australia's youngest heart transplant patent. He was killed on July 4, 1991 in a failed extortion attempt. He was aged 54.

Just as an aside, I met a retired anesthetist who was working on Dr Chang's transplant team on the morning of his death. Word was "secretly" conveyed by police to the 2nd doctor in charge as to what happened, and remembering that all heart transplant operations need to be to the minute, the "normal" transplant operation proceeded without Dr Chang, and without the rest of the team realizing what had really happened happened.
The transplant operation was a complete success.
Dr Chang's team were devastated when they were told of the murder.
Dr Chang's legacy is that the transplant procedures continue to this very day.
