Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Why sign him effectively for 4 years a year ago only to turn around and tell him he can leave? What’s changed? He didn’t play any worse this year than he did last year which prompted us to give him said 4 year contract.
Perhaps it has got to do with confidence in our front row stocks or the amount the club wants to pay for a prop. It seems roster management is fluid and that is why it is crucial to have a good coach, recruitment guy and football manager. I think what we have now is pretty good.

If we land olam and luai, it would be a terrible time to offload Klemmer. We might finally have a finals chance and we lose our best prop.

Dumb, dumb, dumb.

I can't believe we are that stupid unless we have a replacement pending. There's no way cash is an issue, we were going hard for Moses with a reported 1.4m figure, which included brooks in the plans. We must have a sizable chunk still there.
Agree with the first paragraph.
The 2nd however... i dont think the reported Moses figure ever reached 1.4M.
The included Brooks in the plans part we don't know what value they were factoring in for Brooks in that plan. Weve already spent over 1.5M of next years cap on players that likely weren't part of the Moses plan as well as given out sizeable upgrades that were not being budgeted for at the time.
As I said before I think we can afford Luai without letting Klemmer go, but depending on your idea of 'sizeable chunk' im not so sure there is that much remaining.

Who is leaking all this stuff? More holes in this joint then a collander.
It’s funny how every flog and his dog has reported exactly what the Panthers have offered to Luai, and not one comment has been made about it. When the shoe is on the other foot and people “claim” to know what’s being offered by Wests Tigers it’s suddenly a huge pile on.

In a game where people stand to make millions of dollars you can almost guarantee that there are plenty of people looking to line their own pockets. That’s why things leak. It doesn’t just happen at our club, it’s just that it suits the narrative to point it out.

Re Klemmer , Adrian Proszenko on Sen just said the tigers aren’t shopping him but another club has approached them asking if they’d release him .

It’s clearly the bulldogs whose current starting props are Max King & Liam Knight .

The Tigers at this stage have said they aren’t interested in letting Klem go & it’s not a requirement to fit Luai in

Couldn’t see us offloading him we need experience in the forwards and he isn’t costing us a bucket load anyway.

Thought it was the Dragons who had interest in him.

Even if Moses was 1.2m, there were talks about Brooks partnering that at 700k. There was also a comment, by pascoe I think, that this year will be the first without subsiding other contracts.

The ins of the Fainus, Sezar and Sullivan, should be offset by Laurie, Kenny M, Offa and Talau. These are the movements post-moses.

Bateman was post-moses, but negotiating at the same time so I assume we had that cap space.

I think we've still got a decent amount there. Maybe "Sizable chunk" was the wrong language, but there should be a good amount of $$$. Especially with the new cap.

The only possible scenario for any of this Klemmer rumour to have legs is if Fonua-Blake wants to come to the Tigers. Would not happen unless we've got a decent experienced middle lined up.

Klemmer would attract interest from Bulldogs and being a Moses client would have a great chance of being picked up by Manly (especially if Aloiai departs) lol
