Jarome Luai

I think it is madness we are even in the market for him. We have Fainu, Galvin and Sullivan. This should be right in Benji’s wheelhouse to develop these boys into good first graders - yeah we need to go through a bit of pain in next few years but I’d rather that then us go make over priced purchases which is exactly how we ended up here
Mate, we’ve been through pain for the last decade. Now we’re making excuses for another couple years of “pain”. How many years, 2? 3? That will push the tally up close to 15 consecutive years of no finals, in a competition where half the competition play finals. That’s unacceptable.

We are far from certainties to get him for 2025, so I think any talk of swap deals for 2024 are just jurno’s fantasy’s.

Of course there is a chance we are using the talk of swap deals with Luai to sweeten deal to try and get him on big money a year early

This is a tough proposition and puts the tigers in a really uncomfortable position.
With the new laws, Jarome only has to advise Penrith he is considering our offer for them to counter. Unless I’m mistaken and the process does involve an offical lodgement to the NRL of the contract.
On that note, if we refuse to offer up the two players in the swap does that get Jarome on the back foot losing confidence that the club is willing to move mountains to get him over to join the club.
Without a confirmed signature for 25 I wouldn’t be considering any swap.

I mean it could be viewed as ‘oh great Penrith are talking about an early release’ surely we’ve locked him up.
But it could also be viewed as Penrith playing a bit of mind games to test out a competitive club to see just how much they really value Jaromes signature.
I think you could sell it to Luai that we want to hold off till 2025 so that we can strengthen our backline and thereby provide him with a side that is capable of making the 8.

it didn't with Grant
Chances are it was because he was already signed to a marquee club. Would have looked pretty silly to leave them for us when he already had a contract there. Everyone hates Penrith, thinks they have an immoral club, who will do anything to win, Do we think if we sent a promising junior there for a year and Penrith liked him that they wouldn’t try and get him to break his contract with us. That’s why I hate the idea of player swaps. Too much grey area and potential for club’s to the dodge. It seems like it only a one off anyway. No other clubs have attempted to do the same since. Maybe for the reasons I stated.

Again, overthinking. We sign him for 2025 and wait. Very rarely do players sign with another club a year in advance and their current club lets them go a year early. It doesn’t happen. If we sign Luai, it will go down the same way it did with Api and Ice.

It's so simple if you don't buy into the BS.

I bet it was fake. If it wasn't fake why did he sign with the Buildogs ?

It doesn't make logical sense.
Because he was offended we didn’t make the move. He felt we didn’t want him by making the trade. We were in deep negotiations with him and his management then decided not to do it. He felt unwanted, so he went elsewhere. We screwed that up.

So you are stating JAC was offended and that is why he signed with the Dogs. It didn't have anything to do with money ? His agent told him "mate if you are offended you should go and play with the Dogs".

Sounds completely professional.

Days of our lives BS.

Mate, we were in deep negotiations with him to get him and we didn’t go ahead with it. Besides from reports of money we were offering more and he still turned us down. If we agreed to the swap, he’d be ours right now. But we decided not to and that’s why he didn’t sign with us. If you were in deep negotiations with a club then they decide to not go ahead you feel unwanted by them, and that’s what the Tigers did. We messed it up plain and simple.

I understand how you feel but there is no proof of this at all. In fact if we offered more money than the Dogs I bet he comes here.

You have to somehow explain the money issue away and I don't think you can.

We messed up though because we didn't try and sign him for the year he was off contract. We offered him a contract for a year when he was contracted to the Storm and the Storm like Penrith don't let players go early very often if at all. Trade deals happen extremely rarely in the NRL. This story sounds very similar to the way some posters are going on about Luai as if some trade deal is on offer but it's fake news.

Offering more money doesn’t always land you a player. Latrell Mitchell ring a bell? Anyway we messed it up in regards of JAC. Pretty sure there was proof of a possible swap going ahead for him but you’re free to believe if there wasn’t.

It smells of an Isaac Moses special. He wants his clients out of the Tigers

He can kiss our ass. His clients are signed
up for another 3 & 2 years. Not acting in
their best interests if he's behind all this...

I personally think its pressure from dogs,
by way of media. Machiavellian tactics.
Gus behind all this, channel 9 scoop from
the Mole. But hey, what would I know lol

I think we should be doing everything in our power to get Galvin away from Moses. It's only a matter of time if he stays with him.
It’s both hilarious and mind boggling that player agents sometimes dictate where their players will end up. The players get treated like 10 year olds, being told who they will and won’t play for. Sounds more like the player working for the agent than the agent working for the player, as it’s supposed to be.

Should ask Klem and Galvin to roll with Black Money 💰

You have to pay your manager out if you
break the contract. Best treating them on
a don't call me I'll call you if i need anything
basis. Not all agents are bad but most piranhas
