Could always introduce a contract/club status of Injured Reserve, similar to the NFL. Players is still on contract, but no longer counts against the club roster position (Top 30 in NRL terms) until removed from IR.

Looking into that. Yes they paid him out. His salary definitely remained on the books and included in their cap but unknown if his playing spot remained on the books also.
As of July it was reported Warriors only have 28 "top 30" players listed for 2023. i haven't done a real deep search on if they added anyone to their list (they must have added at least one). But none that I can see after just a few minutes of looking.
I'd assume it is like a mid season release it can be counted as a top 30 player or as a freed up spot.
Id further guess that Tom is/right I'm wrong and you can pay someone out and free up a spot given his point earlier about contributing towards salaries of players who have left, though it still isn't conclusive. Either way I'm not sure paying out a bloke on 600k is really an option given the hit it will be to the cap. Maybe a Kepoa, or someone else that is on a lesser contract might be preferable. And that is assuming there is actually someone of improved ability that we can sign to take that spot.

Wests Tigers have issued Adam Doueihi with a "please-explain" after he called a social media post about LGBTQI inclusion in sport "embarrassing".
But the Tigers five-eighth denied he had intended to belittle the LGBTQI community with his since-deleted Instagram comment.
Doueihi replied to a post on the English Premier League's Instagram page that had the heading "How to speak about LGBTQ+ inclusion".
The upload came as part of Stonewall's Rainbow Laces campaign, through which the EPL promotes LGBTQI inclusion with a variety of initiatives between December 2 and 7.
Doueihi commented "embarrassing post" under the upload, which featured prompts for discussing LGBTQI inclusion.
The 25-year-old later deleted the comment, but not before it had garnered more than 9000 likes.
The Tigers have not launched a formal investigation into the comment, but called Doueihi on Sunday for an explanation.
Doueihi told the club he perceived the post to be dictating what people could say to the LGBTQI community, which he found "embarrassing".
He said he deleted his comment after realising it could have been misconstrued as homophobic.
A club representative told AAP the Tigers were an inclusive club that would remain a safe space for fans and players.
The NRL integrity unit has not been involved in the matter.
In October, Doueihi voiced his support for a Sydney Catholic girls' school's decision to block students from bringing female dates to their Year 12 formal.
Doueihi was raised and identifies as a Christian.
The playmaker is currently recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury suffered in April, but last month coach Benji Marshall said he could feature at some point in the 2024 season.

Well... As this shows, he's not allowed his opinion.
He's had to delete it either due to pressure from the club or the qKaren's that are offended.

Well yeah, because he has a public profile and is contracted to a club in a competition that prides itself on being inclusive (See what I did there?. Now, Doueihi’s posts my be intended to be harmless, but given the games stance, you can’t make comments like that when you are contracted. People like us, we’re plebs with no public profile. Unless we’re representing our employers who would care, no one else does

Who cares it's a nothing story, he's entitled to his opinion, if people disagree don't read it. Simple really but not in this day and age, today he needs to be executed because he disagrees with the woke brigade.

He's paid to play football not be a slave the guy is fully entitled to an opinion, they don't own his soul he's just a league player. Pretty sure the club has many more issues to deal with than what one bloke posts on instagram.
