I wouldn't mind betting the reggies will be changed to Wests Tigers as well.Yeah I read it.
I'm just joking. I know the Magpies will only ever be a lower tier team.
It's nice to reminisce though.
Definitely if Vlandys gets his national reserve gradeI wouldn't mind betting the reggies will be changed to Wests Tigers as well.
Agreed. You know that is never going to happen. I would hazard a guess that there are fewer ex magpie supporters in the campbelltown area than there are in the inner west. I only highlighted Richo's quote as he has been banging on about the need for the club to establish itself in the Macarthur region. As he says its no good saying what you are going to doing there and giving yourself a pat on the back. You need to be seen doing what you say. I think Lee H alluded to the fact the Pascoe had wrangled another 41mil out of the govt that was to be allocated to a COE/Academy in the area. The problem has never been that the club hasn't recognised the potential of the area just that they have really dragged their feet in actually doing anything there. And no i don't live in the area - i don't even live in Sydney.
Pretty much - and Penrith is the perfect example of this.If you’re playing at Campbelltown exclusively you want to start training at Campbelltown exclusively. We may not have the resources correct at the moment but that would be the long term goal. If you are going to try and get buy in to a growth area you need the players to be as ingrained in the area as the community is.
The best thing about Richardson is that he has no ties to Balmain or wests. He can make decision based on reason, not nostalgia. He won't be accused of being biased towards either of the old clubs nor would he give a stuff of he was.

There was an opportunity to create the COE into WT’s home stadium, a training hub for multiple sports and an entertainment destination. Someone stuffed up.You don't spend $78m on a new centre of
excellence in the hub of Sydney to go to
shitty facilities way out west. Glad Ctown
is getting a much needed facelift though
We didn't spend that money, we just lease the joint so I guess the devil is in the rental agreement. You don't spend $78m on a new centre of

Bin Chickens.It's the logical plan.
Move us permanently to Campbelltown then maybe change the logo to something the locals can relate to.
Maybe a species of the local birdlife.
Something like a Magpie would be good.
Poor old Laurie, it was the merger that killed him.i’d Like to see the Club’s promotional year kicked off on 23 January which would be the 115th Anniversary if I’m correct.
Not too many clubs around have that rich pedigree.
A black and gold Singlet with the numbers 115 Or a photo of Laurie just might ignite the passion the team can ride all the way to the finals.

$41 mill grant for a COE at Campbo would suggest it won't be a shitty facility.
Interesting times ahead.

Correct answer . Interesting that Lee mentioned that point on SEN this morning. Let’s not talk about it, let’s do it.I wouldn't mind betting the reggies will be changed to Wests Tigers as well.
I will agree with increased involvement with Campbelltown but I want to keep the Wests Tigers name and logo to at least 2108.It's the logical plan.
