Album covers

I bought the box set of Radio Birdman’s albums in he late 1980’s
nice pick up - a lot of my vinyl collection is Australian indie/alternative bands of the 70's, 80's and 90s. Stuff such as Buffalo, Birdman, The Saints, The Trilobites, The Scientists, Died Pretty, GOD, Thought Criminals, Cosmic Psychos - the list goes on. I've tried to buy everything released on the Citadel label but have fallen a bit short.

You would've enjoyed Kardomah Cafe X Cross late 80s Indie scene.

Out watching live gigs around that time every week.

Australia had a super live music scene and plenty of bands 70s and 80s.

Pokies in pubs killed it.

Used to enjoy seeing alot of undercover top line bands playing under reb names around 88 to 92. Favourite was Screaming Jets playing under some other name at Max's at Parramatta Rd Petersham 1990 on a Sunday night 6-10pm around this time of year for around 6 weeks.

$2 entry, $1.80 schooners grab the front table next to stage.

Joint in punchbowl. Now. Croat club forget the name
My memories bad with names we'd go to a dive in Bondi jn a lot... Angels, menTals, rose tattoo etc

I remember cold chisel would occasionally play as the barking spiders.
You'd get the newspaper on Thursday u think it was and the gig guide was sometimes three full pages

Hey Ink, not the exact Gig Guide you were talking but an example of one of the many gig guides we read back in the day. We we so lucky to have been in the era of free gigs all over the place.

Croat Club - Sundowners. Lucky to get out without a punch up is my memory. Saw a stack of bands there. Fave at the time was Dave Warner from the Suburbs.

Mate of mine has an incredible collection - 25,000 albums, 99% of which have only ever been played once - to record them on cassette.
He has all bar 3 7 inch singles of Red Eye Records. Has written book on them: - https://catalogue.nla.gov.au/catalog/4775233
