Yeah I really like all this as well the way a lot of the main players in this position are coming o/c.
When I was a supervisor and doing rostering things like this rarely fell so smooth, the way you wanted them to... It was more - too many staff on this day and not enough on that day
It's a nice problem for Benji to have going into the next few seasons.
Many have written off Sezar already... Wouldn't surprise me if he goes well enough to trigger another contract extension, he's likely to be in the box seat and should get first crack.
How long do we give them all under a new coach before we start judging?

4 sure, propbably open to 1yr more if merited.
He needs to show that he's still got it though

Very unusual to schedule your own press conference to announce yourself signing somewhere. Maybe it's in preparation for the official announcement to happen prior to this.

This whole thing is weird and unusual given we usually lose these battles so I guess it fits.

But we can't offer contracts to offer players with this money. That's the point. We have to exclude 1.2 million from the cap until he makes a decision. Sure there's still some room in any case but you need to know where the majority of your cash is spent to ensure the right positions are prioritised accordingly
Why can't you offer to others?

You can engage in talks with any number of players without having to actually exclude the potential future finance from your cap. It only becomes an official liability once you lodge an accepted contract with the NRL.

You discontinue talks / open up new talks as the prospective costs change.

Can you truly imagine a situation where the recruitment team stops in their tracks because there is a $1.2M offer out to a player?

I made an offer on a house last November, but I kept looking and negotiating on other houses whilst the seller was considering.

How can he commit if we haven't put a contract in front of him to sign? The club has dragged the chain here for some reason, very slow to act, though the changes may have impacted this slightly as the dust settles
Are some of you guys Americans, never had to close a deal in Australia over the Christmas period?

I sold my house last year; solicitors all shut down between mid Dec and mid Jan. Banks also close their exchange process during the break.

Let alone the extreme change in club personnel during the past month.

If anyone has any final insults they would like to get off their chest, it’s highly recommended they do so now. Say anything you like. It’s the last call, as come 3 or 4 o’clock this PM, he’s a Tiger

Let it all out.
Don't get ahead of yourself... Got all of this year yet
