Scott Fulton sacked

From the Australian:

Fulton has spoken exclusively to this masthead about the decision after he received a phone call from the club’s chief executive Shane Richardson on Tuesday morning to say his services were no longer required.

“It’s disappointing because I had such high hopes for the Wests Tigers and the direction we were heading in with recruitment,” Fulton said.

“But I really enjoyed my time under the previous management and what we were able to achieve in a short period.

“These things happen in rugby league and we’ll move on and look for the next opportunity.

I wish the club all the best.”
"under the previous management"

😂😂

I do think down the track we do need a head of recruitment, can't lay too much at Benji's door at this early stage. Unless Richo has a network of scouts and spotters unofficially long term you need these structures in place.
In the short term we can get away with it imo.

Say it ain't so! The man is an icon at the club.
He must have been telling folks our business
It's possible some long standing staff have strong opinions that don't align with how Richo wants to do things.

He said himself, he'll meet with everyone and no one is safe.

Possibly Benji had something to do with it. I'm sure it will all come out in time.

Yeah very surprised Super Mario got the flick.... Can't really see how he could do anything wrong, who knows... Maybe a mutual agreement and this is the start of a new dawn

It might be about Galvin . Ie. Isaac Moses . A lot of talk about how he’s the next superstar , but everyone with a little club insight has been saying he wants out/ Moses wants him out . It also might be about removing the obvious manly / wests tension by McDonnell and Fulton doing the swapsies.
It might limit us in the mean time , but it’s pretty smart in general . Basically all the guys who caused all the bullshit are no longer here . Benji , whilst having a say was clearly put in a shit spot by the Pascoe incompetence, the Lee ego , and the Fulton white anting .
I’m a little concerned , but basically player managers get thier foothold in clubs with weak management . Brisbane with Seibold and Moses . That’s no more . Us with Moses’s , then tartak , that’s no more . Same for the warriors . The only weak management club at the moment is manly , maybe the dragons . It sends a clear message to the rest of the nrl . I think it’s a smart decision.
If the tigers start winning and he sees a future, it doesn’t matter what his agent thinks. He’ll stay.
I don’t blame Galvin for wanting to leave given the UVA’s performance in recent years, if that all disappears with some success.

That doesn't make sense... Do yiu know what that saying means?
why is that hard? Same as too many chefs in a kitchen.... Alluding to the fact that there are too many people trying or making decisions in a place/event that doesnt require that quantity

EDIT: using existing people (that probably had some kind of say anyway) doesn't add to the "broth" or "kitchen"

If Vinnie has been moved - I'd be stunned....
He's been looking after pretty much all the Football Staff since they were kids.

Yeah man, would surprise me if that's the case.
Like @innsaneink said, I can't see how he would
have done anything wrong. Maybe just getting
a bit long in the tooth & the club has sat him down
and had a gentle word with him. The football
operations dept are moving into a more pro-era
sort of more efficient direction which is probably
the case. Same reason we let go of Ronnie Palmer
I'm guessing. Sad if true but onwards we march

Yes I'm aware what it means.... He said he likes a 3 man recruitment team instead of one and then quotes a saying which goes against that

My sources tell me Scott was a pretender and his sister Kristie was the real brains in the family and the reason for Manly’s recruitment success.
He should have never been hired- Manly wanted him gone, but the previous management were sold by the name - typical wank-fest hire from the 1920s gangster and his sidekick.

Unemployed now

“The Tigers won’t pursue a replacement, instead deploying a recruitment committee comprised of Richardson, Marshall and interim head of football Matthew Betsey.”

- via SMH today.
So who is going to be touring the country scouting for talent? Watching matches all over the east coast, at all age groups? We still need a recruitment scout. None of those listed have the time to travel and watch prospective signings first hand.
