Just did some checking and it appears( at least as of March 23 ) he is alive and living in the Blue Mountains where he has a long term conservation project to save Parma Wallabies.
By my reckoning he’s either 87 or 88 years old.

His name is Peter Piggot. I had some business dealings with him at Uncle Pete’s, and a very pleasant guy. But that was a long , long time ago.

They opened an uncle petes in Burwood around 1990 on Burwood Rd where the old Coles variety store was.

Can't recall whether the Crows Nest store was in tandem at the time.
