Does anyone know how/if this effects the cap?

Does the 300k come out of the cap for this season or are we now rid of Nofoaluma's 525k for each of the next two seasons?

It’s sad that so many of our longest serving players have had periods where they have fallen out with the club. Benji, Farah, Heigno, Gibbs and now Noffa. I know Heigno and Gibbs didn’t really “fall out”, but they were club stalwarts who should have played their entire career here. The only long serving player, who was here from start to finish was Lawrence.

and remember, Rowdy had to basically beg to get that final year minimum contract if I recall correctly.

His $300k payout will count towards this seasons cap.

What it does do is open up $750k across the next two seasons.

Could be wrong but to my knowledge because there was a breach in the contract the $300,000 might not be taken out from the salary cap as it could be seen as a club expense.

Which could most likely mean the club just cleared Nofa’s whole contract of $500,000 a year off the books …… massive win for us if true.

Yes but NSW state law does.

Conflict of interest is not governed by any NSW statute or legislation.

Legal privilege would apply - unless they were to LEGALLY represent both parties in a dispute - and that would be in breach of the Bar Association regulations - not NSW law...

Brydens sponsorship of the club is immaterial.

Sad way for it to end but he honestly hasn't helped his own situation at all in the past couple of years. The $300k handshake is that x2 $600 in total for the remaining years or $300 all up?
Good for our cap and roster management moving forward i must say.

It’s disappointing his time here ended like this but financially and football wise this is a fantastic outcome for the club. We seem to have a harder edge to such things since Richo took over.

I suspect Nofoa didn't want to take the payout, hence the article this morning that he rejected the payout, however Tartak has probably encouraged him to take it in order to maintain his relationship with the Tigers and avoid further embarrassment following the Volkman debacle.

He was also probably aware that Nofo didn't have a leg to stand on at the board meeting considering he had been formally issued with notices multiple times this offseason, so Tartak probably told him to take the 300k or be likely left with nothing.
