Im just so sick of players leaving and dragging the clubs name thru the mud, whether its the players fault of the clubs....we are hardly a highly proffesional outfit in this regard
Were a laughing stock, the culture in the place stinks and has forever...and the rest of the nRL knows it
I guess change takes time, god weve been waiting decades, hopefully the independant review continues to clean the joint out
Still hearing of players not really buying in ala Papalii and Bateman...how many more are there and how many losses will it take for the crap to hit the fan again?
In this particular case....

Funny he can come out and point the finger (Again) and turn it all around to blame someone else...
He walked away from $800,000.00 Cold!!
Anyone who thinks he did it because he's a good bloke is dead set kidding....

Whatever he's done, It was enough for him to get sacked and the club has offered him a small payout of what he's owed to help him save face and continue his career.
There's no way the RLPA lets the 'Tigers' off the hook with short changing him, It was this money - Or no money....

So he takes him money and runs, then fires a parting shot.
I'd love the club to come out and throw him under the Bus...

The Brydens lunch crew in the media will keep throwing stones for a while yet.

The hypocrisy of the media making inferences about internal leaks when they are still getting info from the same old sources who are no longer in the building is peak rugby league!

Ink you might know, the player who surprised me the most when he left, cause I thought he would open his mouth but he seemed to leave real quiet was Russell Packer. I thought once he was done he would go and spray the club like crazy. I honestly can't remember him saying anything once he was done. Granted he pocketed like 1.6 mil over 2 years to do sweet f.a, so he really couldn't complain but I thought for sure he would spray the Tigers and Maguire in the media.

Yeah I understand but its the old saying dont lower yourself to those standards.

Plus it does nothing for club culture just makes things worse, the more we engage in this rubbish wether its players media etc the worse it is for us

Ink I reckon we will see a different Bateman and Papalli this year .Both very good players and if injury free will play hard and help lead the young guys around...just my thoughts but a totally different mindset with a lot of stability and work ethics around the place.

Basically. Wests Tigers fans hear all the latest news about Wests Tigers from the media. Yet they dont subscribe to a membership. To quote Al Pacino.... we are in the dark here.

I hope the club stays silent. That's our problem, in the past Lee would have carried on for a week about any other player. Let him walk, let him say his piece, and don't respond to it.

The guy is 30 going on 7. Even admitted he didn't want to come back after going Melbourne on loan, so he's kicked tyres ever since. It's everyone else's fault somehow though.

He can suck it from the back as far as I'm concerned.

Two parting shots with long form interviews with both the Telegraph and SMH...

It is evidently a failed PR exercise with Lee calling the shots

Packer had his heart in it but was blindsided by Cleary and then hampered by injury - as did Matulino who already came to us injured due to the aforementioned former coach.

FK: Did you worry you would struggle to find a new home?

DN:
I knew I had the ability. I knew for myself that my head wasn’t there at the Tigers. And with everything going on I couldn’t reach my potential and be motivated to be there.

They obviously didn’t want me there and I made it clear to them I didn’t want to be there.

So, it was best for both of us to part ways. I’ve done a lot for the club, a lot of achievements, I’m all-time highest try scorer at the club. I don’t want to harbour bad blood against that team. I had a lot of opportunities to go to other clubs every time I came off contract and I decided to stay. It might have been better for me to leave back then when I was younger. I understood that they (Tigers) struggling and I was performing. A few players left and I thought it’d be good for me to stay and without turns out, you know, it’s business. Unfortunately, for me I ended up in this position.

FK: Are you open to coming back to the NRL?

DN:
I’m at the age (30) now that, you know, I’m open to everything. But at this present moment, all I’m focused on is going to Salford and putting my best foot forward for them. I’ve got a lot of experience, so I’m sure I can help them out in certain ways. I’m open to coming back or even staying in England if things work out.

FK: How did it come to this? Can you pinpoint a time where things really changed?

DN:
I was in a similar position last year (2022), I was playing reserve grade for the Magpies and I still remember the phone call from Craig Bellamy. I got named to play for reserve grade in the same week got named to play NRL for the Storm when I did the loan deal. Everyone could see how I played down there. I enjoyed the new environment, it was nothing against the Tigers. I just got over losing. It’s a team sport, you can’t do anything individually and no matter how good you are if the team is not performing it affects you as a person. As I got older it affected me.

I couldnt get by the first few questions before I stopped reading it. The dude pretty much thinks he is an immortal.

"I understood that they (Tigers) struggling and I was performing."

and this -

"Everyone could see how I played down there. I enjoyed the new environment, it was nothing against the Tigers. I just got over losing. It’s a team sport, you can’t do anything individually and no matter how good you are if the team is not performing it affects you as a person"

What a delusion wanker. Scored 100 tries, let 300 in. I guess he never thought defence was part of his job because he sure as shit didnt do that most games, Mr No'f'ing'idea.

I think that whatever the outcome from the trials.Benji has given the young guys an opportunity to play alongside some of our best and experienced players...
This gives them the chance to see what they are capable of,many are still developing and learning the game,Benji is giving them the chance...
We all know that some young guys are touted as superstars only to fall by the wayside, others don't shine so much early on but end up very good NRL players...
Let's see how it all pans out this year,we have waited years now for a reasonable squad to field and now it seems we may have one that will be competative....👍
