TEAM LIST Trial 1 vs. Warriors

Team List
Maybe that’s exactly why he’s “injured”Those big Kiwi boppas could really do some damage to both his physical and mental state.
I highly doubt they'd be feigning injury... Not the way you go about keeping a prospect that many other clubs have their eye on.
The Melb, Brisbane Penrith Roosters boppas are pretty big as well
If he needs wrapping in cotton wool then he's not good enough... And that I doubt

The fact that he has a calf strain from training further emphasises the slow and steady approach we should be taking with this lanky under-developed kid if he is an elite prospect,

A hamstring - pec or achilles and his progress is set back by 12+ months...
Agree. Don’t want him to be the next Turbo.

Meh, is what it is. Probably means Sezer and Bud have to stay out there a bit longer and they could both use some extra time to work on combos and get to match fit, especially since they will have their feet up round 1.
Hope Galvin can get some time in the 2nd trial if possible.

Seyfarth showed genuine progress in his game in the back end of last year. One of not many. I think he's yet to hit his ceiling.
Agreed. Seyfarth always had the passing in his game. What he didn't have previously was a coach who would allow him to play his natural game which suffered as a consequence. He was pigeon holed into a role which didn't match his skillset. It is good that Marshall and co encourage him to use his talent.

Yes and no, over the past few seasons he has improved his ability to carry a ball forward. Always had the ball playing as you mentioned but a lock is still a middle forward. No good being in that role and not being able to assist in the engine room.

I agree with both of you

I wonder if Bateman will be spending some time at lock. Am I right in saying we have never had an amazing lock at our club? Payten was probably the closest but he spent most of his time in the front row.

Heighno to me was criminally overrated here, for both his attack and defense.

Elijay Taylor comes to mind, can't think of anyone else..?

I’m sure you’re right Ink, I was just being a tad cynical. Can’t wait to eventually see this guy play, especially given the wraps on him.

Remember a guy named Wayne Pearce, was a pretty fair 13 !
And what about the legendary Neil “ Bing” Pringle.

It's why I'm excited for Kit Laulilii & Chris Faagutu to develop more... I reckon one of these guys can lock down the 13 jersey & make a real fist of it

Latu Feinu good defender and balls skills.. lock written all over him allowing Galvin / Large to be the long term half partner ? Ps. Is Latu available for our opening season game or still suspended?

IMHO, Ellis was the only player comparable to Payten, the next one would be Fulton, but he was far behind regarding his physical impact and ball handling.
