I wonder what the ticket price would have been at Accor?

I would have thought that a deal at Accor would be pretty much subsidised allowing for ticket prices to be a bit more reasonable than the $55 being charged at Leichhardt to stand on the hill.

I believe that playing at Accor was pretty attractive for the club in the past from a financial point and was good for members because there were reciprocal arrangements meaning entry for some away games eg. Souffs, Dogs. were also included.

The management of Accor (then ANZ) were selective and did not want every home game played there, only the ones they thought would draw the biggest crowd, (eg. Souffs/Canterbury /Parramatta) so we still did not have it as our sole home ground.

Personally If we were forced to have only one home ground I would have been happy for it to be Accor/ANZ/Olympic Park, whatever you want to call it, provided we were given the financial incentives and reciprocal member benefits to take all our home games there with the proviso that all the improvements with respect to making it a rectangular ground with the curtaining, steeper seating etc. that were originally proposed.

I think it would have been ideal due to it's central location, availability of public transport, (especially when public transport was included in the ticket price), close proximity to Concord etc.

Then the dumb bastards went and built nice home grounds for the Roorters and the Parra-sites instead.

I think the reciprocal entry for members was stopped as clubs no longer participated in it. Parramatta was the first club to not allow members of another team that plays at Accor reciprocal rights then dogs followed a year or 2 later and finally souths stopped it to.

I also remember that the free public transport that was originally included in the membership/ticket price ended as well.

Have to be very careful with any deal that is negotiated and how long it runs for and what is included.

The State Gov. are to blame for a lot of this.
Penrith have a stadium that SEATS around 20,000. So the Gov says knock it down and we build one that holds 25,000 bums on seats. COST, around $350 million. Not a problem!
Build a stadium at Liverpool, no way, can't afford it. Upgrade Campbelltown. Can't afford it.

The move to the other stadiums didn’t fail it kept the club financially to a point afloat as the sentimental grounds cost us money even when full.

The sentimental grounds will have little impact on member numbers overall especially if the club starts a winning trend.

The traditional grounds make up the incentive to be a member currently. Why would you become a member of an 80k stadium, where you can always buy guaranteed a ticket. If we become successful then being a member at Leichhardt is the only way to guarantee a ticket.

If we move to ANZ aour attendance will take a hit, unless we're winning.

It's a terrible ground to watch footy at unless there's at least 30k there, which won't happen other than Easter. We'll also become the nomads again if we continue to play at Leichhardt, Campbelltown and Homebush.

If we ever leave Leichhardt and or Campbelltown that will be a devastating blow that the club will struggle to ever overcome.

He is crapping on a almost a century of history and culture. Dont let him, ignore everything Fox and fight for LO. My apologies 🙇‍♂️👏 Suzie-Q for giving the impression I was making it a gender issue, and I can certainly see why you would feel that.
I was simply asking about the admission price and the price of food.

From what I noticed on the tv and in stills, it 'appears' that everyone is 'standing' on the hill. I didn't realise you were able to have the luxury of spreading out a picnic rug and watching the game while still sitting on the rug, drinking JB's and eating hot dogs, wow it actually sounds like an idyllic party atmosphere, for some.

Now back to the price of food and drink provided at the ground.
How much is a hot doggie, and how much is the JB or beer or whatever?

Fact is, in their current state, Leichhardt and Campbelltown grounds need urgent work for an NRL club to continue to play in those venues and deliver comfort to supporters, and a revenue stream for the club. The tough sell to government is WT play 5 matches in each. Manly and Penrith play 11 at Brookie and Penrith respectively.

Parra is a no go. From a capacity point of view, I reckon it could've worked if the Leagues club wasn't directly beside the joint, but the fact is, IT IS!! That venue is associated with Parra all day and night, and any other club - whether it be Canterbury, WT, or Penrith for the next two seasons - will be second rate citizens. It [This word has been automatically removed]ing irks me to think WT supporters use the club pre-game and pump money into an opposition club.

Olympic Stadium is the only real alternative for WT given the venue's location, and homogeneity in the NRL. But I hate the 4, 3, 3 split that the club has previously had. It confirms the nomads tag that the club has been labelled with.

Has Richo said anything about the Tamworth strategy and whether the club will continue with it at the end of the contract? Like the Leichhardt and Campbelltown strategy, that was the doing of the former management team, and wondering whether Richo and Mielekamp will support and persist with it.

WT are not the only tenants of LO!

There are a huge number of matches across codes that get played there. When you factor in the number of Aleague Mens and Womens matches, rugby, rep or international matches etc there are far more matches played there than at any other suburban ground.

There's a reason WT moved away from Homebush, it was incredibly unpopular and a terrible place to watch footy.

Maybe. But he would know how hard it will be to get that funding,especially for LO. He can't build our memberships when what is currently available is seats on the hill.
We'll move to Homebush next year and the talk of funding LO will gradually die off.

Neither will Brookvale but they are smart enough to know that's where their identity is in a competitive Sydney market. And when did WT's become a dictatorship?
We want on field success but not by satisfying the corporates at the expense of the fans. WTs could host out of town teams at Leichardt and give the corporates the stadium to host their people at the other games. The fan base vote with feet when the club play at Leichardt after finishing last two years in a row first game against a team not many gave us a chance against on Saturday night packed out. Most CEO's would be happy about that I would have thought.

Not my way ! RL is absolutely 1st , 2nd , 3rd with football a distant way off , and afl a novelty , like playing gridiron when the Super Bowl is on.
My son is a huge gamer , and not very sporty at all , but he plays RL at lunch never fail, and has zero interest in watching it with me . There’s multiple games of footy happening at any given time .
Soccer is popular from age 7-12 because “mom doesn’t want little Johnny to get injured” once he gets a voice , and peer pressure kicks in , the dominant sport prevails .
Not to mention it’s proven by most high performance studies that playing as many sports as possible is the best thing for a kid , and specialising before teenage years is not only a waste a time , but statistically way more likely to have the opposite result that’s desired .
The best athletes in NSW and wild will naturally be drawn to nrl . AFL in other states .
Outside of participation numbers for sponsorships , bragging rights etc . Pre teen sports should be viewed as an all in approach IMO .

You must be in one of the few league strongholds then. Football participation outnumbers league by something like 1000% in nsw.
