I want to try Bateman at Center. I honestly don't see us punting him unless massive unders. I can't see him remaining in the front row, nor being a half. Considering where we are at, it's worth a gamble.

Sullivan should get a run each game. We want to punt him and we won't unless the guy gets game time and can show some value. At the start of the year he was horrible. Yet at this stage he is actually travelling better then others. We need to boost his market stocks so that we can move him on.

Bench : Jake Simpkin ,Alex Seyfarth ,Sione Fainu ,Brent Naden
Unavailable : Tupou ,Papalii Klemmer ,Bateman ,Toa ,Latu Fainu , Sezer, Faataape
I'm not convinced about Matamua ,Seyfarth ,Sione F, and reluctant to pick Naden or just about anybody from our perpetually losing Nsw Cup side but with the 8 unavailable not much choice

Another year with 8 NRL players (I applied that term loosely) out at one time.

You are reluctant to pick anyone from NSW Cup - but are happy to pick Doueihi out of position without a single minute of football in over 12 months???

Seriously - this is the stupidest selection ever!

I thought we looked better when Matamua was on the field last week. He plays more direct and straightens the attack, goes forward and looks defensively sound. Is only young at 21 and should be given a good run in the position to make his own.
I also like Seyfarth’s enthusiasm and aggression. While he may not have the physical talents of others, he makes the best use of what he has. Personally would rather effort over potential.
Was inpressed by Sione from the previous week, more than satisfactory for a debut game.
Also Alex Lobb, albeit with limited minutes was ok as well - deserves another chance.

Probably just getting desperate clutching at anything . .I hear Douehi has actually been offered a minimum wage contract extension which is like saying they want to get rid of him
Was kind of hoping a guy out for 83 weeks might have been training the house down getting fit so he can get a proper contract .
Don't agree Center is out of position though

I'd put Staines in the centres and give Saukuru a run on the wing got nothing to lose.

I real terms not much available given injury/suspensions
(Naden, Tupou ,Papalii, Klemmer ,Bateman ,Toa ,Latu Fainu , Sezer, Faataape etc)

Therefore
Bula
Staines
Olam
????
Alama
Galvin
Sullivan
Matamua
Fainu
????
Ute
Api
Twal

Seyfarth
S Fainu
Pole

He didn’t start though, Twal started at Lock for part of the game. Might continue that way to help Matamua build up his engine.
