Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Unless we negotiate something extra due to us boosting a rival it shows weakness.
Weakness 😂 some of you guys really need to figure out what's happening in your head.

There is obviously something we wanted out of this, and we got it. An extra top 30 roster spot for this year. I would imagine there is a reason for that considering we already had one free.

I don’t get “Flanagan has been killing it at the Dragons”
They have one a couple of more games than the Tigers
and I can’t see them making the top 8 either.
Actually, I would like to add a little bit of perspective to the current position of the 2 teams.

St.George have won 3 times as many games as Wests Tigers this season.

St.George are also on equal competition points with teams currently sharing 8th position on the ladder, having won 6 out of the 12 games they have played, points differential being the thing that currently pushes them further down the ladder.

It is generally considered that if you win half of your games plus one extra during a season that it will generally get you a top 8 spot, not saying this is going to happen but there is every possibility that it could happen and if I was a betting person I would probably feel more confident having my money on St.George making the top 8 than I would about Wests Tigers avoiding the spoon for a 3rd year straight.

St.George are in a position where an additional 2 competition points are highly likely to be added to their total after next round meaning they will have won half of their games plus 1 extra. (winning 7 out of 13 games)

On the other hand, Wests Tigers are in 16th position on the ladder only due to the fact that they have a superior points differential to Souffs who are currently in 17th position, however there is every possibility that we are in that 17th position after next round.

How's that for a little bit of perspective.

Another buy or the promotion of one of our juniors. It is a good move.

Haha get off your knees son, your blind faith is pathetic.

Do they have grounds to terminate? He is not yet guilty of anything.

What Frodo said above. They're going through previous
indiscretions & looking at things alleged from earlier...

Funny how Penrith appeased his behaviour, and even
extended his contract & now things come out smh

"The Penrith Panthers have moved to terminate the contract of Taylan May, issuing the centre with a show cause notice as he prepares to front the club’s board to fight for his career next week. The Panthers last week presented May – who is due to face court on domestic violence charges in March next year – with a dossier of breaches during his time at the club, dating back several years.

breaches of the club’s code of conduct are not related to allegations made by his partner that resulted in May being charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and two counts of stalking or intimidating another person with the intention of causing them to fear physical or mental harm. May has pleaded not guilty.
May, who has been stood down by the NRL under its no-fault policy, will have to face the Panthers board next Tuesday in relation to a string of other off-field misdemeanours during his time at Penrith. The Panthers and May’s agent declined to comment when contacted on Monday night. Sources with knowledge of the situation talking on the condition of anonymity said some of the breaches relate to incidents that took place before he signed a contract extension with the Panthers on March 22 this year.

The club agreed to a two-year extension worth close to $1.2 million to keep him at Penrith until the end of 2026".

And Jacob Liddle will play semi-final football a long time before the Tigers will.

I still can't believe they told Turuva they couldn't go above 350k a year BEFORE signing May to 600k a year.

Yeah they played red when they should have bet on
black. It's crazy, they knew about his history but didn't
want to lose him...He showed loyalty to Nathan too
during that scuffle at a QLD pub a few years ago.
Plus younger brother of Cleary's best mate, good
player too. You can tell why he was protected species
