He will be coming here next year … it’s too late now to go somewhere else unless he wants to play for massive unders which I suppose is conceivable but unlikely …

Come 2026 though …who knows … if Richo doesn’t bring in a few more players things could even get worse next year …

I hope Stef commits or Richo has some master plan to replace him adequately. I don’t think Luai would struggle to find a suitor if he was able to negotiate out of his Tigers deal. As has been mentioned, clubs up the top end of the comp have ways to make things happen.

i still think you are jumping at shadows … do the big clubs want him?I I don’t recall them being interested when he was available …it was us and the Dogs ..and Penrith retaining him

Be prepared for Stef to leave …

Unless it’s written into his contract that he can leave based on loss of certain players he can suck that shit up. I’m starting to get over this generations expectation of entitlement. And I’m sure your right BAGNF05.
 
I think Stef is mad to up and leave without giving 25 a go with Luai. His value won't go down, so might as well hang in there another year and see where we are at. No need to take the current offer, just sit on what he is on and he may just get more for 26 and onwards.

Why's does it always have to be the Roosters?

The Fall out from Cronk to the Roosters was Pearce to the Knights
- Also big money and happened in a heartbeat with no warning...
And they were wooden spooners with an overpaid superstar already..
Panthers almost just done it with Fifita....

Just because it doesn't happen often, Or around here....
Doesn't mean it can't or won't....

Ok… let’s wait and see … I am pretty confident he still comes here in 2025 regardless of who walks out the door in the meantime …

It could well be a media beat up. It could also be his agent agitating to secure the best outcome for his client (i.e doing his job). Having said that, Wests Tigers desperately need players who want to play for the jersey and their teammates. If he makes one statement about it "being a business now" and "doing the best thing for my family", Richo should withdraw the offer and cut him loose. It would be nice for Steph to come out with a strong statement of commitment. I want to play for this club. I want to be part of turning it around. I am happy to have sorted out my contract extension and I am here for the long haul. Will it happen? Seems it might not work out that way. He's a good front rower, potentially could be a very good one. It would be a shame for him to leave, but I am not sure he is worth more than the 800K per season they have offered. He's no Blocker Roach!

He will test the market.
Yes I think we need key props. Stef is a "nice to have" but not key. 800k, maybe 850-900. but wouldn't go higher and happy to instead drop on someone else.

Payne Haas is on $3.5 million for 3 years. I could do 1.5 for him to come here.
