never seems any real prospects of improvement …or thoughts the team is going be better next season
The more games of NRL that I watch, the more I’m convinced our team generally do their job in regards to yardage carries when they have a fair share of possession.
The big issue is line speed and defending with intensity for longer than 20mins and this area particularly struggles as soon as we face any adversity such as penalties or set restarts conceded.
We lack players who hit hard enough defensively to force turnovers and definitely lack players with the speed and power to create or make long range line breaks or tries.
As all our rival clubs are aware of, we don’t lack good players, we lack balance and lack players who will stand up when our opponents intimidate and over power us.

I’m half expecting Luai and Turuva now to try and renege on their deals. They’re probably thinking I signed to play with the likes of Ice, Stef and Galvin - now I’m playing with Seyfarth, Porter and Bud.

Exactly, screw the rules we need to do whatever we need to so we can get ahead. Problem we have atm is the way we're going I don't think we could entice any big names to break contracts.

Politis refused to work with Isaac after Mitchell reneged on his deal to sign at the Roosters instead going to Parramatta. Politis put a blackline through Isaac. That changed when Isaac delivered Teddy to them the same off season they signed Cronk. Pretty sure they're all good now

yeah ..it’s hard yards mate ..if Richo can’t improve things in the CEO chair ..I don’t know who could …not sure how the Dogs managed to turn over their squad in 2 years … ?

I’m not sure about the truth of the various rumours but in terms of players wanting to be here, obviously you want commitment and passion and will to succeed. I’d like to see the club work hard on sitting with these players/managers/parents and turning around their feelings with a vision. If they can’t I’d like to see them hold firm and at least secure quality trades to let them go. We can’t just keep releasing quality players for nothing in return.
In terms of Latu Fainu, from the junior footage I’ve seen he looks an absolute gun with fantastic vision. If he can get his hammies right I think he could be a high level half. I’d back him if Galvin ended up leaving. I also want to see the club hold firm and potentially swap them both in and out of KOE for their development or swap positions. If the club says play centre at 18 you play centre. No player dictating.
In the good clubs guys like Galvin have 2-3 years more in reserves developing only getting the occasional fill in game in firsts. Look at the Roosters where guns like Sua’ali’i and Manu start on wing and centre and have to bide their time for years to get to their preferred position.
If we can sort out our roster then I’m also confident that if the others don’t work out or stay then the appeal of partnering Luai will still attract a good half.

If Richo can't get this rabble sorted noone can. I expect him to start doing what Gus did at the Dogs and completely overhaul the roster in the next 3 years. Gus and Bennett have an amazing ability to just tap guys they don't want on the shoulder and move them on and just bring new guys in.

Easy , call the Player you want gone into office sit him down and simply say
you are so shit we dont want you and we are running last get the picture , now call your manager and tell him to find you a new club or your on the bench in reserve grade for ever

Ok … won’t work for everyone ( see Russel Packer) … but will work for a few… they have tolerated a lot of ordinary players to the end of their contracts in the past …Richo needs to be more ruthless …

Pengai Jr is actually not a bad player ..I would take him here ..just like the Top 4 Dolphins did

When u sit down and work out what’s wrong with our team I think it boils down to our body shapes are all wrong . We just don’t have the bulk in the forwards , and they just can’t create for our backs , did anyone watch the sharks game , when HUNT came on with his bulk they killed them , we don’t have that . In fact over the last few years we have either let players leave while under contract or told them there not wanted . Some of the bigger players we have let go
