Our players can play footy, but for whatever reason they are short on confidence. Now that may seem like a throwaway line , but think about it for a moment?
It could be as simple as contracting those with leadership qualities and nurturing those qualities. e.g. Luai.
Api is doing a marvellous job but he can’t be everywhere while doing his 50 tackles and kicking goals.
We have an 18yo telling 100 gamers where to go.
A young FB just learning to talk.
A 21yo 25 game HB who needed a nappy change when he was told “this is your team.”
Thats our spine which should be providing the confidence boost to the team.

It would have been a cruel blow to the team to learn that their new coach had only coached potty training for his kids, and that in itself can be a confidence destroyer even if Benji becomes the reincarnation of Wayne Bennett, it doesn’t seamlessly happen.
On field leadership, sometimes it can be a real confidence booster.

How much loyalty does he need?
If not for us - he’d be unhappily working in the media according to him.

He left us still under contract in 2013,
We got him back when no one else wanted him….
6 months after he retired we made him the head coach… with no experience!!

Now we’re disloyal?
When are we getting something back?

You raise some good points, honestly. Loyalty doesn't
have an expiry date though. Everyone is suffering.
Players, staff, fans. Loyalty doesn't have an expiry
date. People that are loyal often get left behind but
that's the price you have to pay if you stick solid.
No ands or buts it's either red or black, sink or swim.
We're all upset — when we take away the emotions
We're still in love with this club 4 better or 4 worse

Goes both ways too that loyalty thing...

First time the coach left, he had 2 years left on his contract and up and left us high and dry
with a couple 18 year old kids for halves and Braith Anasta...
Then when he finished the second time, he booted us again...

I've got no real issue with Benji, He gave us some of the best times we've ever had....
That shouldn't give him a golden ticket at the club for as long as he likes though,
- Same goes for Robbie, Heigno....

To be honest,
Not many coaches (With zero experience) would ever put their hand up for an NRL head coaching role and think they'll just role through it no issues like Benji has...
He's never had an issue with confidence, I do feel he's not accepted reality from time to time though...

such as loyalty & confidence are rendered useless.
