Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Just trying to identify the 10 or so Pathways juniors who Sheens has indicated are signed up & identified as the future (given we are stacked in certain positions such as Lock, 2nd Row & Hooker, have noted that Sheens said in one of his radio interviews we can't keep them all).
  • Justin Matamua (Lock)
  • Brandon Tumeth (2nd Row)
  • Lachlan Galvin (2nd Row, potentially 5/8)
  • Tallyn Da Silva (Hooker)
  • Chris Faagutu (Lock, Prop)
  • Jordan Miller (Prop)
  • Tahj Colquhoun (Wing, Fullback)
  • Jahream Bula (Fullback, Wing)
  • Solomone Saukuru (2nd Row)
  • Cathane Hill (Fullback)
  • Kit Laulilii (Lock, Prop)
  • Levi Conti or Alex Conti or Heath Mason (Halves, probably just one of these)
I have left out Junior Tupou (as already signed to top 30), Josh Feledy (as coming from another Club & confirmed for Development contract with upgrade), Dudley Dotoi & Herman Tofaeono (as no one knows what is going on with them).

Sheens also mentioned Patrick Young in an interview as one he is impressed with but he adds to our packed Lock list).

Then there are the likes of William Craig (Centre) & Lipina Ata (Prop). Bloody hell it's hard to narrow down to 10-12.
Bump. I've honestly had this bookmarked since you posted it 😂 just to see if we'd hold on to them.

Yes it's a terrible indicator of our depth, but can't help but feel happy that 5 of the players mentioned here were part of the win today.

We had 2 promising kids at that time, Ray and Jacob Giles I think his name was - kid from the central coast…
We kept Jacob, I think he was a better prospect at the time - but he got injured not long after and never really come back from it.
Stoney went over to Parra and earned himself a spot…
Jacob Giles I believe still playing first grade for Toukley in the Central Coast comp. They won the comp last year.

🤣 wow @Lauren and great to see Herman Tofaeono play in Cup today, I think he has a big future with us too! A tank with legs like tree trunks!

We'd want to get Tofaeono on a Dev contract for next year. Thing is with him, faagautand Kit all being under 6 foot it's unlikely we'd be able to have more than one of these nuggets on the field at the same time

Gutsy win yesterday channeling the spirit of the Tigers and the Magpies. Hopefully we have our youngsters contracted because the vultures will be circling. There is a real dearth of talent in the NRL and a player like Jordan Miller is all raw talent and ability. He hasn't had that knocked out of him by coaches who like the robotic style of football. Young Mason had a great game, he did what the team needed him to do and did it well.

Yep...need to put him on a development contract and give him a pre-season with the NRL squad. Definitely someone we want to keep for now and see how he progresses!

Adam too may just accept playing at 31 like Will Smith had.

Not a bad option for him or us... he stays at reserve half for 300k and hangs with the team.

if the plan is for AD to play in the halves … then I would be happy to let him go .. I see Living Large’s manager crying about too many halves at the club blocking his path …. Put him in reserve grade next season… looks to be physical enough ..and of course there will be Bud there already … we are all good for halves

Bula is a legend! We don’t want any other full back.

I was a massive Bula fan but he seems to just fall into tackles and makes very little PCM in my opinion. Doesn’t seem to want to break the line.

He is a weapon do not get me wrong but I don’t know if FB is his position.

Maybe he will get more comfortable with his attacking in the future and I wouldn’t be upset if we persist with him.

His defence and positioning in D is very good. Just needs to get his attack right and he will be a gun.

Might make a phenomenal centre/winger if he is open to trying it out.

His play reminds me a little bit of Dugan back in his day.
