CEO - Shane Richardson

Well this old chestnutnof an argument that is as old as the club is all a waste of time
Doesn't stop people though and I used to be a fervent participant way back when.
I usually steer clear of this topic now days but boredom and too. Much time. On. My hands sees me getting into this one but I'm done.

It's interesting though we have so many 'supporters' who seem to really support a ground more than the team
I have more attachment to LO I guess than I do CSS as a 60yo ex magpie
25 fkn years... So many years wasted with the 50/50 BS trying to appease everyone
One home ground!
I know that's simplifying things and will.never happen. Unless we sacrifice one of.our junior catchments which would be insanity.
If we had two adjoining JRL districts that would be perfect but unfortunately we are at opposite ends of a big filthy city.
So in that regard I'd probably opt for full time Homebush... Bite the bullet once and for all.
Short term pain for long term gain N
If we're winning (which we rarely have) most won't care about the ground
All we know is losses and home ground issues bring up memories of better days and tend to influence opinions
That has always been the problem. People bagging the club for not having one home ground when us fans could never agree. I can see the response now

All games at CSS- we never win there, it’s a dump.
All at LO- not suitable for Corporates, we will lose the South West
Commbank- this is Parra’s home, we can’t play next to Parra Leagues
Accor- what a soulless wasteland for club games
Allianz- we are not Easts Tigers

For some, it isn't no. But the sentiment from many is that while Olympic Park is way too big it's still a better option than playing at Parramattas home. Out of all venues we've never had lower crowds than when we were at Bankwest.
If Richo did research he'd know this. Playing 5 games at Homebush and 3 at LO and CSS is not ideal, but it'll do as a short term option

The main information we should get is what is the difference in payments/corporate deals he gets from Homebush or Bankwest or Sydney - that would be interesting to see when he makes his announcement. Because that’s the only reason he moves games away from CSS & LO. That decision has nothing to do with crowds numbers.

Richo apparently giving up a home game to play in a “mini magic round at Allianz “ next year … another home ground to add to the list...

He better not be giving up another home game for the Brisbane magic round as well… I don’t even care if they have the bye that week and don’t go at all…although apparently according to the article they will still be doing this

Go see the team play where it suits you best - there is nothing wrong with having a preferred option and I feel no guilt for having mine or feel the need to justify it, because the reasons make perfect sense. The team will draw crowds wherever they play when they are winning and it appears that the CEO who's opinion matters more than the fans sees the best option moving forward is at a stadium that can best accommodate corporates. So if your preference is Campbelltown or Leichardt go while you can and cheer them on.

Well said champion @Telltails

Yeah I carnt agree with this been the rite call but unlike previous management they would have done it to avoid media scrutiny Richo will be doing it with the best interest of the club in mind. Hopefully there is a longer term plan for this

I will wait to judge this decision once the full stadium plan is released

He was never going to pull up stumps from the suburban grounds when the team is camped at the bottom of the ladder. It's the Sydney fans who turn up to go and see them play and Suburban grounds draw reasonable crowds in Sydney that the big stadiums don't, especially against out of town teams and for night games. If you are good enough you can win anywhere but you have to get to that position first and history will show that in Sydney stadiums will not attract fans at the bottom of the ladder and even less so when played in the evenings.
I don't get why people don't get that.

Is giving up home games next year to play Penrith and Parra at their home stadium the way to go about winning games ?

Hope the $$$ are worth it ..

Everyone gave Pascoe shyte for years over this … apparently Richo gets a pass though
Come on Tom... Speaking for myself only this mornings the first time I heard of this... I'd say the same for many others

It's starting to get outta hand imo it seems to me we'll have 5 grounds called home

CSS
LO
Commbank ($$ rounds)
Allianz (indigenous round )
SunCorp(magic round)

Do I have it wrong?
