Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Looking forward to 2025,
Our backline could shape up quite nicely

1 Bula
2
3 Douihei
4 Olam
5 Turuva

Not sure what option is best to play right wing... Luke Lualilii is the future in My opinion.

Could see us just using Staines, Toa, Lobb or Naden for that role until Luke is ready to hold the position down permanently.
It’s basically this years line up swapping Tupou for Turuva.

I’d like us to get a metre eater winger like Skelton. Laulilli needs more time before he’s an every week NRL option IMO.

Penrith seem right off Taylan May due to his off field nonsense.

Might be a chance he's in need of a life line?
Perhaps we offer him counselling, anger management, life skills training and offer him a low cost deal?

I know many would be against it due to his crimes and stupidity however, worth a shot?
Much better winger than centre imo - I know we’re coming off a win and the vibes are good but if we wanna be a serious threat we need some reinforcements to help with the momentum.

Realistically wherever he goes next he’s gonna kill it, you can dislike the person but damn it’s hard to dislike the player.

Penrith had to get rid of one of there young outside backs with Jesse McLean and Alamoti making strides and they got there opportunity and striked.

May and Turuva having familiarity with Luai and Api in the spine as well.

1. Jahream Bula
2. Taylan May
3. Adam Doueihi
4. Justin Olam
5. Sunia Turuva

If he can get through the court case unscathed and able to be registered again then you’d have to consider it - both Maksini and Lualili to develop a little more in the younger grades and eventually be slotted in. Looks good to me!

Please no. Pleeeease no.

Think of May hanging around all our 18-20 year olds. What a disaster
He’s too far gone as a pretend gangsta.

Plus his brother is a convicted pervert.

Sponsors won’t go near us.

We sign May and I’m pretty much ready to burn my membership as well as the dogs.

They treat women like garbage, that’s against my beliefs.

Plus his tatt word removed would have been more fitting.

Interesting hearing Benji say Luke has been ready since preseason, just age that didn’t allow him to play. I’m sure being ready to play doesn’t mean he would have had we not have so many injuries.

I think we are in a good spot with the outside backs. I mean Bula, Doueihi, Olam, Turuva and potentially Luke next year puts us in a decent stead. Not to mention Makasini who was all but confirmed to make his debut within the next year; Navren Willet is another really good kid who didn’t look out of place in the trials albeit had a poor game recently in cup. We also have Onitoni Large who to me is worth all the hype given to him, I’m not one to usually buy into hype but this kid is the real deal. He and Makasini from all reports are priorities. When Olam retires (2026) Makasini will probably be taking that spot as he is an out and out centre and as for Onitoni it’s very hard to see where he goes. He wants to be a 5/8 but he also plays centre in Union I believe so it’s gonna be hard to fit him in. Unless Doueihi moves to a utility spot but then again we have Latu. Oh my what a problem to have, at least with Richo and Benji we can guarantee that we’ll get the best outcome unlike the last two muppets.

I read May won a successful Federal Court action against Penrith to prevent the club from interviewing him a second time. This could drag on but you would have to think his tenure at the Panthers is over. I think there would be strong resistance to his arrival at the club from many but especially from our female supporters. I don't believe we need to bring in that alleged issue into the club.

Gee Penrith have had a couple good ones with 2 of the May brothers, you'd really have to question Cleary junior's choice of friends.

At least this time it doesn't look like the Cleary family are supporting this scum bag like they did with his brother a couple of years ago.

One of the commentators, perhaps Gould, mentioned how well Utoikamanu is served by having Koroisau at dummy half. In our conversations about retention and recruitment, the strength of our fullback, 5/8, half and hooker should be mentioned. The Raiders struggled yesterday due to the lack of a ball player in the halves.

I think that's well summarised.

I don't think we can go and sign any more backs without blocking a pathway. We'll still have Staines, toa and naden too. I think all 3 will be spending more time in cup

Benji needs to keep the pack that played yesterday.
Those boys seem to have formed a real bond.
I wouldn't be changing it no matter who's available.
Klemmer's an interruption to play and Ipap can play out the rest of his contract with Our Johnny in a Magpies jersey.
The Seyfarth, Porter 1-2 off the kick off didnt inspire a whole lot of confidence in me but what you lose in impact you gain in consistency and effort I suppose. Think they need to sure up the prop rotation with Klemmer or Twal off the bench

On Large, I'm hopeful we can sell him a pathway to fullback. If he performs well enough, Bula could do a job at centre or wing.

A club like the Roosters can stick him on the wing or in the centres like they did with Sualli but I think we need more than that to keep him long term. The good news is we have 4 years to figure it out, and we'll know by then if Galvin is staying.

nah … Toa has done nothing here despite numerous opportunities … move him on for mine
This year he's played 2 games and got injured in both. I'd hardly call that numerous opportunities.

I'm happy to see the back of Naden but hang on to To'a for depth. I rate him a better centre and winger than Staines.

he has played 42 NRL games for the Tigers… I would call that numerous opportunities

get rid of Naden and Staines as well… just because they are shyte doesn’t excuse Toa

we are a development team … you will understand soon enough what that means .. I found out last offseason when they didn’t sign anyone ..
I think you're totally missing the point of what that means. You seem to think it means we won't ever sign anyone from outside the club. Which is totally incorrect. Signing top level players from outside our region is necessary across all grades, especially at NRL level.

Just because we have some good kids in the South West doesn't mean we won't be exploring NZ, regional NSW or Qld for supremely talented players
