Mental Health Discussion

Exercise is so underrated in regards to improving mental health. I think anytime someone wants anti-depressants, a doctor should first be recommending exercise before prescribing medication.
Exercise can help a bit but honestly I find it's overstated. It helps clear your mind from negative thoughts and you get an exercise high which you feel over the rest of the day but it didn't do much for my depression/anxiety. I used to exercise a lot I would go for 1/1.5 hour bike rides every day. I completely agree, though, it should be the first thing you should try before medication, including changes to your diet.

Being a Wests Tigers supporter is bad for mental health, period.

Ive been to war, people have died in my arms, Ive seen death up close, found a friend who self deleted, survived 2 marriages, death of loved ones, Ive seen so much shit I cant even write it here without my account being banned. I practiced psychology for over 20 years, the stuff you become desensitised to, and I swear to the non existent god of the great JiuJiu spaghetti monster that nothing, absolutely nothing gets me more down then when the Tigers play like shit. Its been a very rough decade.

Wow, mate. I thought I was a rabid supporter, but you play me off a break.

Does being secretly pissed off count as a mental health problem.
Three years ago we bought our dream house . Big house, pool , spa , many bathrooms all the bells and whistles. Turns out a big house and a big yard is a lot of maintenance and I'm not one to pay a stranger to come to my house to clean or mow.
So my wife decided and I went along with it to keep the peace, to sell up and buy a townhome. It's big enough and a nice place but it feels like tomorrow I start the final phase of life. In all honesty I would rather have remained here but keeping my wife happy is more important to me.
The worst bit is I had to sell off my pinball machines.
All in all I'm a bit miserable about it, but this is just a bit of pissing into the wind about a first world problem.
Suck it up and move on Packer!
