CEO - Shane Richardson

It’s been a good read the last few pages.

I think the good coaches tend to get the best out of their players and we’ve had a tired Madge, a failure in Tim and rookies Brett and Benji.

Its a pity Paps didn’t work out. From all the information we had at the time, he was an astute purchase. I think it was up to the coaches to keep his motor running but they couldn’t do it.

It might be me, but except for genuine freak marquee, there seems to a big churn of good players and they move through their era more rapidly.

Benji has some players ears but obviously not others.

I think we should bite the bullet and bring in top r&r. Pay the right money. We are more likely to identify good players.

If I like something that Benji has done, he’s brought in younger players, they then become options.

It’s threading the needle this stuff…anyways….

I don't understand why everyone is so upset about Ice leaving? He has been terribly mediocre since he joined, and obviously isn't interested in helping to turn the place around. Absolutely no loss here, and not a blemish on Richo's record.
People are upset because he performed well before he got here and will play well at his next club
Not interested here but will and has shown interest before
There's plenty like that with us

Issue isn't his ability but his desire, he never wanted to come to the Tigers. His heart was never init and it showed in his performances
Rubbish
He wanted to come here... It wasn't until AFTER he'd been here for however long it was that he knew he didn't wanna be here

Why would he come if he didn't want to?
He clearly wants better footy eise... So I doubt money is the answer

Honour ! Like when you talk yourself into a relationship , and give someone a go who you probably should have run at the first time they opened thier mouth .
Free agency is a crapshoot . In just about every sport the likelihood of this guy you just gave a max contract to working out is actually pretty slim . Most end up being busts .( I think I read an article where the number was like 55%, had a minor-major drop in performance after changing teams ) .
Teams try and replicate the perfect conditions that get some players to fire and fail . With ICE the gamble was which player was he , the warriors player or the eels player . Turns out the answer is both !
I’m sure he tried , but he just wasn’t the guy who could get others around him to rise , and as such his performance regressed to those around him .
I think the lesson is you can’t try and buy that player , or expect longevity =leadership, or that others perceive that person as a leader it’s all subjective , and unique to situations .
Like woodsy here . Was our captain , leaves , and is basically the joker around the whichever club he’s at , an almost 180 degree turn .
And Api , I don’t think anyone saw him as a guy who would drive standards and a leader . And I don’t think he was bought for that reason . The fact he has become that is a real boon . Everyone knew he was an amazing footballer , and a great bloke , but. Captain ? A leader ? It’s been a good surprise . And it happens organically . Unfortunately with Ice we tried to shoehorn him into that role , and he just wasn’t that guy .

Iv got no doubt once the ink on the contract was dry and Parramatta made the grand final he realised he made a mistake. All the speculation about him nor wanting to come went on for ages, all he had to do was put it to bed like Luai did when he was asked about it and he never did. He regretted leaving Parramatta and as soon as he is at Penrith he will be in the media saying the same thing.

Richo didn't let Joffa leave, Blore had already signed with Melbourne for next year so we got Olam in return & let Blore go a year early, Papa is disappointing I'll agree but from the get go his heart was never in it here & Penrith are paying his full salary for next season which was set to go up considerably so it's not all bad. The leaks from the club have stopped coming out so it's hard to gauge what the club is trying to do exactly but there's obviously a plan in place.
Well he should get into the media and drop of couple of hints for the poor fans , give us something , I like leaks plugged but the top dog can still pass out a bit of news

parramatta made the GF and probably increased his offer a bit however he was stuck after he signed with us he had to head here he couldn't get out of the deal.
He will be good in that Penrith system

Can you clarify this please because I don’t think you mean rest and relaxation
Yep.

Retention and Recruitment.

We should be hiring the best officials in the game, usually found at the top clubs.

Those with connections and a good track record.

This is exactly what the powerhouse clubs are doing.

There were many interviews of him gish galloping his way through answering/not answering the question about coming to the Tigers. I get not wanting to trash or talk of other teams while playing somewhere else but it went far beyond that.

People have short memories. Ive never seen a better case for signature remorse than this flake. Dude never wanted to come, signed for the Madge and the dollars and couldnt wait to leave the second he stepped foot in the joint. His performances and effort reflect that. Its a shitty thing to say but the best thing about Paps is his injury unearthed Sammy F, already had twice the impact per game than Paps ever showed. Good riddance.

I’ve got a soft spot for Sammy too.

A lot of footy goodness ahead for him, he’s just started his journey too.

The thing is why the hell didn’t we say to the panthers we want a player in exchange, he still had another year to go , but we just roll over claiming oh we have opened a spot for a junior, not been nasty but I am over this kids coming through are champions crap

We are the only halfwits that trade players … no one else does it …

I think you nailed it. Ink. For ubiquitous other also. Hope you are wrong. But I feel you are right.

He said he was coming for the money, but I suspect he was also looking forward to linking up with the kiwi coach. Oops 😬 we sacked the coach. 🤓

How old is he now?

How old is he now?
25.

Which Matthew Elliot considers is the peak age for forwards.

I might be splitting hairs with Matt, but I think 27 is more optimal.

Because males will reach max strength at age 30.

Individuals vary obviously.

He might have been a player who simply peaked too early and he might struggle under the intensity of clearyfication.

Not to mention the competition posed by the Cleary Youth.
