Justin Olam #281

Funnily enough I had 3 of them over a 6 week period in AprilMay instead of going in for a knee reco. My knee hasn’t felt this good for 30 years. I hope they are as successful for him but he wouldn’t have had the 3 as yet ( I imagine) ?

He has them late last year apparently

Not sure...I heard calf cramps, that's all. Cramps are
common coming back from unrelated leg injuries
You never rush a calf injury either. I’m sure that’s exactly the info passed on to Benji from physio @Vicious

Let him fully rehab this leg issue through the offseason, have him come back as our most experienced and second choice ctr 3/4 as he has been most of this year.

If we had a strong top 30 that had suitable replacements while he was out injured it would not be an issue.
But some genius has signed Brent Naden, Josh Feledy, Solomon Saukuru and Luke Laulilli all as outside backs in our top 30 in 2025.
I know all three other than Naden are developing, but as it currently stands those 4 would be struggling to win a game in Ron Massey Cup let alone expected to be our next men up for our NRL team.

110% in agreement, hope Saukuru is more than just hype!

The Storm obviously knew more about his injuries than we did
The Storm don’t sit in the top 4 nearly every season for no reason, they are extremely well calculated decision makers and mostly get their recruitment and retention spot on.
It’s not even a secret that they would ideally like to add both Stef and Pole to their roster, that should immediately tell us they are 2 players we desperately need to keep and add more players to our top 30 that would be the type of players wanted by a club such as Melbourne Storm.

Rob Bechara on Wests Life Podcast last night mentioned he has heard rumours that the club is trying to get Olam medically retired … backs up what ol mate here has been hinting at …

Maybe something to it … or just typical Chinese Whispers going around?

I hope it’s not true ..as the decision to sign Olam was the new regime…which wouldn’t be a good look based on what a lot of us thought at the time about what was being said about him

Getting worried about Twal's long-term future too after so many concussions. His latest stint out is another long one to recover from a concussion.

Really wanted to keep Blore all along but once he was getting offers he was going to Melbourne even if it wasn't until next year, he was still as good as gone.

The WT had plenty of opportunity to re-sign Blore … before Melbourne entered the picture …he publicly said he wanted to remain here … he wasn’t wanted by either Scott Fulton or Benji unfortunately

Says a lot about the quality of the medical clearance more than anything else if true.

what do you mean he doesn’t want to play…he played!

he was poor at times with his stiff leg … but I wouldn’t exactly say he didn’t want to be there… he was his usual physical self most of the time..

pretty weak evidence ..you are relying on ..one word at a press conference … maybe Benji meant to say knee ..or maybe he has injured his calf trying to favour his knee …

neither of us know the full story..

he was actually one of their best players against the Titans three weeks ago
Regardless of his medical situation, surely his physical courage isn't being questioned??

It’s good to see Rob follows my posts.
