Coaches? Players? Management?

How's Brooks going? After a couple of good early games, he's back to mediocrity. Talau is getting tries but wingers score form opportunities, which are clearly better at Manly. Pappy and Ado-Carr barely played first grade before they were snapped up. Stef will have his moments, but he'll never be a workhorse. He's not half the player Haas is, but he's 75% of the cost.
At round 12 of DallyM leaderboard, Brooks was on 8 points, only one point behind Api. Quite an effort when considering Manly have DCE and Turbo, both in the top 10 of the leaderboard at rnd 12.

If it has to be an ex Balmain player as the Balmain nomination i think Sironen would be the best choice as he has always been involved with the juniors coming through
Wayne Pearce who's coached club and origin as well as worked at N.R.L headquarters would be a much better option imo. Would have a better understanding of not only the team requirements but also running of the day to day business.

He did ok( I wouldn’t call it running amok) but was embarrassingly run down by a second rower after getting 10 metres start in a runaway break.
Was also beaten in a run down the Corso by some random Wests Tigers supporter, but then I shouldn't judge him because I'm not sure if that was before or after he slip over in the shower, so maybe that could have been a factor. 🤣

Well, no argument from me. If you reckon you can do it.
I just see how difficult it would be to get DallyM points with those two in the team, but Brooks gets them.
He was good at the start of the season when teams were rusty, but he was awarded the Dally M one time so that says all you need to know about Dally M points and awards.

Brooks is killing it. Was Manly's best player in their thrashing of the Knights, with no DCE.

Played very well in the Titans game too.

It's the players. It's all of the above in that the coach and management sign the contracts but the players just aren't good enough. Specifically the forwards haven't been good enough for years.
Very few forwards have left and improved. The backs that have left have improved due to being behind a better pack.

Pre season 2005, no serious commentator ever gave our roster a rap nor gave us any chance of winning the comp. Some even thought the Tigers couldn't make the eight. Our best "signing" before then was (according to the press) Tim Sheens!

Well history turned that on its head!!

Since then we have had, on paper, rosters that were supposedly "top 4" quality........only to perennially finish 9th, choking in the last rounds before the Semi's.

So we have a poor roster now apparently, despite the big name signings of the last 3 years. Hopefully the big names we've signed for 2025 onwards actually perform to the standard of their pay cheques & some of these young blokes blossom in the new season or it's going to be more of the same. We need a champion team, not a team of "champions".
