I wonder about the Broncos' use of the 18th Man yesterday. Technically they can use him if they lose a player as a result of an incident where the offending player is sin-binned but Keano Kini was sin-binned for tackling Mam without the ball. In that incident Mam injured his ankle and left the field but Kini just grabbed Mam's shirt. It wasn't a hip drop or even hip-drop-adjacent.

I guess it's legal but it doesn't seem to be the point of the 18th man rule.
