Sack Marshall

Maybe Benjis new assistant might be Potter, Farah out, Potter in.
Now wouldn’t that be ironic !!!
Potter a step forward.but doesn't address the core coaching problem....
Benji can't develop juniors, and the better players want out of his coaching style and will forgo $$t to do so
Even Galvin and Bula aren't improving, our 2 best young high potential talents along with Stefano
Whilst the better players keep deserting a sinking ship, things ain't gonna improve
Meanwhile, despite very limited top 30 slots, ppl on this forum wanna improve our depth,or our KOE cup whilst the nrl teamplunges to clear spoon winners..for the 3rd time

I agree.

Which is why I am sick to death of all the Madge talk.
Look I liked Madge, he seemed like a good guy. But he wasn't working and was driving us into the ground.

Potter, I reckon he could have turned us around if Tallis did not set up Farah on air. Had that blip not happened he would probably had gotten another season and stabilized the club.

Hahaha….
Blame the media guy cause a club captain was bagging the coach to him…

When Sheens was sacked the year before, he said words to the effect of ā€œPlayers sack coachesā€ Farah was the captain at the time….

Robbie is a club legend and fantastic player - but he ā€˜fell out’ with 3 coaches in the space of 3 years….

No amount of setting up can help that…
He was no clean skin in any of that.

Absolutely spot on BB.

Take it for what it is worth.

Marshall is not going to be the coach after next season unless significant improvement is shown. There is a feeling at the club that coaching strategy and in-game decision making is not good enough, and that players may develop faster and at a higher standard under a different coach. Players are fond of him but competitiveness and winning are seen as far more important.

Stefano leaving was also seen as a clear comment on the perceived lower quality of coaching at the club compared to others.

Richo knows that no coach could come in with this roster and have success. He also knows he couldn't come in and sack the biggest Tigers of them all, Marshall and Farah, without getting the nose of some old egos in the club out of joint. Farah has already chosen to leave, putting the heat on Marshall to surround himself with more proven coaches where he has been reluctant in the past.

There is hope that Luai will make a noticeable impact next season, especially on the younger players, and stave off any thoughts they may have of leaving like Stef did. If he doesn't, there will be clear reasons to sack Marshall, as much of an indictment on the club as it would be for providing such a long contract in the first place. Don't think that candidates are not being identified in the event that it happens.

Heard this from a someone who has known things and whose name you'd know.

It all makes sense tbh - we are vile and have not been competitive in most matches this season.

If he doesn't improve us he'll be gone mid-year
next year. Coaching structure will change to
give him a crack. He's got a big ego though, not
sure how responsive he would be with SNR coach

Agree. It shows the club’s stupidity in that we keep bringing in blokes that burned bridges. Sheens, Farah, Elias, even Marshall to a lesser extent.

No wonder the squad seems to have a sense of entitlement

I'm no Taylor fan,but am a fan of facts and results...he got us into 9th spot and developed several young players to a situation where they were high $$$ players to be attracted to other clubs.
Board and let both Taylor and Potter down
facts suggestTaylor did an OK job..as did Potter tbh. who did it again at Dogs as interim coach but never got a look in .here or at Dogs
What got us going backwards was the poor choices to replace the big 4...plus an interim coach in Cleary who was talented but uncommitted to the club, and recruited accordingly...
then a poor coach of developing players in Madge.Good guy,but useless in our situation
Then throw in a self serving egotist and proven failure over past decade in Sheens.what cld possibly go wrong...?
AND ...if that's not quite enuff, recruit an untried and unproven coach for a 5 yr deal over a long lunch
Joint is a disgrace
Hopefully Richo can turn around the Titanic..
Don't forget Taylor had Tim Simona throwing games that season betting on himself to miss tackles in a head to head with his opposing centre.
Lot of distractions and Brooks won his Dally M.

Before they sack another coach mid season , how sure are we that on current form Benji is the answer. I would have been more confident of his transition to a 1st grade coach if some progress was evident. All I see though is a dead man walking and the club releasing yet another coach mid season and another season written off. I sure hope I am wrong

That makes sense but we can't afford another crap season. Rip the bandaid off now. Get the best coach available and make Benji an assistant if he wants to stay on.
