When the time comes, It will be suggested to Benji that it’s in his best interests to take up other opportunities within the organisation.

It was Clearys departure that completely stuffed the club. That was the catalyst for Pasco and the boards downfall. Cleary had a squad he had playing well on bad deals that were left for the club and Maguire to deal with. Had Cleary stayed we would be in a completely diffrent position now. Imo.

I keep being amazed seeing Taylor in the Dogs coaches box as Ciraldos right hand man. Must be a better attack coach than we thought as Ciraldo in charge of D( which was his role at Penrith).

I think it depends on how we’re going results wise, and if we have an experienced person there to take the job even if it was on an interim basis. Right now Morris would be given the job if Benji was sacked at some point next season given he’s had the job before. But if he’s done after this season and we have 2 new assistants who haven’t had the job before of being a head coach, he might be given the whole season regardless.

IMO the “real” rebuild cannot begin until we get a real head coach.

Assuming we sign 1 or 2 more quality players for 2025, it would be nice if we could have a coach as well. As you said, it’s just going to be another wasted season, waiting for a coach to deliver results he’s not capable of

You also won’t attract any decent coach to come here knowing they’ll be sacked if the club is not finals bound after the regular season is finished. Since 2022 we’ve had 4 different people had the position of head coach. I know Noddy was only on an interim basis but he still had the job during that period of time. Trying to recruit a 5th head coach in a 4 year period just screams basket case.

I don’t see any other coaches getting the sack at this stage. The only one who might get some pressure is Adam O’Brian, and I wouldn’t exactly be looking at him to replace our current coach when he’s not doing that well himself the whole time he’s been the Knights coach. He’d do better at some things then Benji would, but he’s never set the Knights on fire the whole time he’s coached them.

Take it for what it is worth.

Marshall is not going to be the coach after next season unless significant improvement is shown. There is a feeling at the club that coaching strategy and in-game decision making is not good enough, and that players may develop faster and at a higher standard under a different coach. Players are fond of him but competitiveness and winning are seen as far more important.

Stefano leaving was also seen as a clear comment on the perceived lower quality of coaching at the club compared to others.

Richo knows that no coach could come in with this roster and have success. He also knows he couldn't come in and sack the biggest Tigers of them all, Marshall and Farah, without getting the nose of some old egos in the club out of joint. Farah has already chosen to leave, putting the heat on Marshall to surround himself with more proven coaches where he has been reluctant in the past.

There is hope that Luai will make a noticeable impact next season, especially on the younger players, and stave off any thoughts they may have of leaving like Stef did. If he doesn't, there will be clear reasons to sack Marshall, as much of an indictment on the club as it would be for providing such a long contract in the first place. Don't think that candidates are not being identified in the event that it happens.

Heard this from a someone who has known things and whose name you'd know.

It all makes sense tbh - we are vile and have not been competitive in most matches this season.

We are a basket case. It’s indisputable. I suppose the question is what do people thinks makes us not a basket case sooner? Persisting with a coach who can’t do the job or ripping the band aid off and getting a new coach? Nobody knows for sure but my preference is for the latter.

Another thing, the longer we persist with him, we’re not going to attract players. Sure, he got Luai here, but again, that was all done over the off season, before a game had been played and he was in his honeymoon period. Since the start of the year, I struggle to see what the appeal would be for opposition players to come and play under him. Two of our own key players are walking out early on their contracts at the end of the year. Benji’s fault? Who knows. Either way, it’s not a good look for him.

I agree it’s not a good look, but the whole organisation isn’t going to be seen as a popular destination if they’re changing coaches again in a very short period. Unless the club got Bennett or Bellamy (which will never happen) no player is gonna consider us even with a semi decent coach if they know that coach won’t be there for more than a year.
