LIVE GAME Round 24 vs. Rabbitohs

Live Game Discussion
Any fullback who let's 4 kicks bounce is not NRL standard. Not even Flegg standard fullback play tonight. He did a couple if decent things, and I like that he's busy, but he has to catch every ball that comes near him on the full. He could have caught these balls, instead he stood still and just watched them bounce next to him. Every time the ball bounced it took us 5+ mins to recover.

He shouldn't have been thrown in the deep end. He needs time to develop his skills and size, nothing wrongly with that for a 19 year old, it's normal, he should be doing this out of the limelight. If he's in first grade he's up for the criticism that comes with being a first grader
He definitely has a confidence issue in wanting to catch high balls and if he is to continue playing fullback he needs to fix, but he’s still only 18y.o, so plenty of time to fine tune his game.
From an attacking point of view he certainly runs the ball very well, I think we needed to get him more ball when we were in good attacking positions and just instructed him to take them on with his sharpness and right foot step as much as possible.

Heath Mason reminds me of an early Ben Barba. Lots of energy, can bust tackles, has a bit of x factor about him, but boy is he shaky under the high ball. Woeful almost.
I think back a few years and one of our best juniors, sorry Rooster's junior Tedesco, was shaky under the high ball. Mason will have to work hard on this aspect of his game. The Panthers fullback, Edwards, had woeful hands when he first made his debut.

Mason can really hold his head up high imo. Tried hard all night, was zippy and was great to see a fullback get us on the front foot charging back hard from kick returns.
He's 19 in pretty much his debut game in a spoon team. The errors were always going to be there. Thought he was strong in D as well
He had a go, which was great. He showed us what a fullback that's busting his ass can offer, and highlights the weakness from Bulas complacency and low energy output. But he cannot allow balls to bounce. He did it 4 times. That's schoolboy errors and undoes the good work completely

Sione Fainu impressed tonight. I like what I see in him. Hopefully he can develop into the prop we need him to be.

75m in 22 minutes. Has great footwork and an offload. It is imperative we develop this guy.

His brother had his worst game of the year unfortunately. Maybe the drain if the season is getting to young Sam, because tonight he was close to worst on field. Needs to get to the end of the year.

Did anyone else watch the post game show where Gould was having his normal bat off session about Galvin, he mentioned Galvin was at Canterbury leagues recently with some acquaintance and surprise Gus just happened to be there at the same time, did anyone else here it, I may have missed something

I’ll concede to you on the bouncing balls but loved the way he ran the ball with vigour.

Next week, Staines to fullback and Tupou to the wing?
