Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

A signing we need is an attack coach.
Has there been any consideration to signing Trent Barrett as Robbie Farah’s replacement? Credited with turning the Panthers around. Worked with Luai and Api closely in 2021 and 2022. Head coach experience in three big clubs during challenging seasons.
I believe he would offer a lot working with Benji.
Signed with the Broncos.

Any word then who this mystery coach is? Holbrook is probably loving life at the Roosters now so I doubt he’d come back. Doubt JD would want the job, Arthur isn’t a chance.
Maybe we try and get Sandercock back I think we probably had one of our best attacks under him.

Ur joking of. Course he has been toxic every club he’s been to , manly , dogs and now eels , wouldn’t put him in charge of a a- grade team

Still waiting for these announcements. As far as props go, seems the 4 best that are on the market are RCG, Horsburgh, Saifiti and Hunt. None inspire a huge amount of excitement, but Horsburgh is probably best value.

Agree with some about Kaufusi, personally I would want to hold out for NAS.

Just reading about Dogs improvement in defence . I think we all knew Ciraldo was a top coach in the making, pity we couldnt lock him down before Dogs.
A mate and I have been “ discussing” whether it’s the coach or the Dogs recruitment that has led to the change. I say it has to be both but my friend says it’s more the coach coz he was the Penrith defence coach and they were the benchmark.
Reckons his systems could even make our players look like champs ?
There's something in the Penrith defensive system. Even Cleary had us competing every game defensively with a pretty poor squad. Attack was our issue which is probably more down to roster quality than coaching to be fair.

There is a video floating around of him at the Warriors in a coaching session it's truly amazing something from Braveheart and it's just about tacking attitude and putting your body into the tackle after watching I could have gone out and tackled NRL first grade player's

He just knows how to hit you where it counts and commitment to your team mates playing for each other

That Knights-Sharks game could give you 4-5 genuine players of interest to add to the squad- Saifiti, Croker, Hetherington, Williams, Kaufusi, Hunt & Billy Burns all potentially available.

Croker & Hetherington numbers were great (particularly Croker) & Kaufusi had a great game.

If the club could haul Kaufusi, Croker, Hetherington & Jack Williams- that's a forward revolution.

I like Williams- but I think I'd have him as option 2-3 behind Jazz Tevaga/Dylan Walker (one or the other- not both) & Harrison Hassett (simply for role reasons as Hassett can fill in at centre if required).

Kaufusi, Croker & Hetherington- added to our pack- makes me happy.
If you could add Dylan Walker, you would have just about the most creative extended spine in the comp, with Api at Hooker, Luai at 7, Galvin at 6, Bula at 1 and Walker at Lock.
Walker is also a great utility, and could step in at hooker for 20 minutes to give Api a breather, or fill in as a running 5/8 or even at backrow / centre if required during a game. It gives you a lot more flexibility on the bench.

I've got a bit of underwhelming news;

Tristan Hope, a hooker from Easts Tigers in QCup, will be coming down for the offseason with the club, likely a Cup contract.

Can only assume it's part of the process of bolstering our reserves side for '25.
On target with your mail @Kelce68

Here is one of our depth signings 'in the coming days' ... sounds like a T&T deal.

Hetherington is beginning to win me over

Not sure if Barrett is the right person, but definitely agree we need an attack coach.
